Hello Graham, for what you say you have one or more control buttons of your Sony SA-PM65MD defective, this does not work properly the rest of the buttons
The correct repair would be to replace all the buttons
If you can't do it, consult a specialized technical service

Thank you for your reply Franco, yes thats correct. NONE of the physical buttons on the device work - switch on, eject, turn volume etc.. the only way to operate the unit is with the remote control. Something must have overheated inside the unit causing this?
Hello again Graham, another possibility that could have happened, is that some liquid has been spilled and has entered or they have tried to remove the front or cover and they forgot to connect the flat ribbon of connection of functions or it could have broken in the try, this is simple assumptions
I hope you can solve the problem

Hello creyn,
why dont you join both TV n Theater system remotes togather with rubber band?
SOURCE: Daikin heat pump, turn it
just try leaving the unit plugged off from the main power for few hours.
then try switching ON.

press the enter and number 1 button on remote simultanously

I purchased a LAZBOY universal remote (at Fred Meyers, on sale for $9.99) and after a bunch of research and trial-&-error, was able
program it with a code (1629) which works reasonably well with the
Bose 3-2-1.
I don't have all the system-level functions (which I never utilized anyway) but do have all the basics as far as power, volume, source, and CD/DVD control.
SOURCE: My remote won't start the fire in my vent free fire place.
Mine did the same thing. What happens is when the batteries die and the remote sits, the remote loses its address. I found this link to the remote manual online. You have to locate your receiver in the fireplace insert. On the receiver there is some dip switch settings. Open up the link below and go to the appendix at the bottom and find your address of the receiver, mine was 005. Go to your remote and power on. Hit the up arrow until you are at the timer. Now hit the left arrow on your remote 10 times, this will diplay the address of the remote, mine was 000, change this number to match your address of the receiver by hitting the up arrow on the remote, I changed mine to 005. Now hit the left arrow again and this will take you out of programming. Power on your remote and should work, enjoy.
