I have a Whirlpool side-by-side fridge that has an IceMagic Plus icemaker that quit working. There doesn't seem to be any blockage to the icemaker and there is no water feeding to the icemaker -- does that mean the water solenoid/valve is broken? There is a switch on the icemaker that says ''normal'' or ice plus''. When it is in the ''ice plus'' position there is a whirring sound from the icemaker -- in the ''normal'' position it is quiet. Help! What do I do next?
Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it dumps the ice but doesn't refill , replace the ice maker . If it doesn't dump , and the cubes stay in the ice maker , replace the ice maker .
The switch on the icemaker for normal , runs the icemaker normaly . In the ice plus , a small fan comes on , blowing the inside air , over the ice maker mold , to help it freeze faster .
