Make sure it is in NTSC for USA instead of PAL or Secam system. [email protected]
I can’t say for sure with out knowing what type it is but it is probably not a settings issue. Could be color guns out of alignment or board that regulates color has gone bad. Call LG to find a warranty repair shop if under warranty, if not buy a new one. With the price of new smart TVs most are not worth fixing!

Make sure that the color control level is set to the default or 50% to start with. This should be in the Video menu.
The colour for the tuner and for the encoded base-band video uses a circuit area called the colour demodulator. It is possible that this cirucuit area has failed and needs servicing.

Hi there,
My sister-in-law has exactly the same problem and is a common one with this unit.
I've spoken to a technician who says that:
1. Hitachi are withdrawing from Australia and there are VERY limited service centres left
2. The problem is a chip on the main board and depending when the TV was made will determine whether the chip is a plu-in or soldered on to the main board - if it's the latter, you'll be up for a main board at around $400
3. He couldn't get the price of the plug-in chip because he couldn't get through to Hitachi.
Cheers
Dave M.

Same problem with an older JVC player. One end of the S-video cable was loose. Pushed in in tight and everything ok again. Cheap fix if it works for you.

look on the TV menu for (system) in south africa we use PAL, if you cant change it on the TV, with the decoder remote press menu then 7 then 4, it will ask for a pin code press 9-9-4-9 it will read "RF modulator" press OK, it will then read 1 MODULATION press ok again and it will highlight PAL I now press the right key and press OK, if this persists then the decoder it probably faulty... good luck

You may have shorted out the driver circuits on the LCD panel or on the T-CON board, you will have to try to dry out any moisture left inside the LCD panel assembly. Typical repair bill for shop can be $150 and up plus any parts that it may need, sorry for the bad news since the LCD may have to be repleaced if the damage is badly done. You need to open it up and look real close at the LCD panel and the T-CON board.
