Washing machine will fill with water, but won't spin.

The drum will not spin. The washing machine will fill up, and run through an entire wash cycle, and drain, but not once will it spin. Google suggests it is the belt, but i cvannot find the belt on this machine. It is a Whirpool Extra Large Super Capacity Plus; that is what is on the front of the machine next to the controls.

Hi there.
If the washer won't drain or spin there might be a clogged pump or hose. It's common for small socks or other small clothing items to get into the water drain system and clog the hose leading to the pump or the pump itself. Remove the hoses from the pump in order to remove the article of clothing.16 Mar 2014

SOURCE: Whirlpool Ultimate Care II Quiet Wash - Wash Cycle not holding water

Since your washer worked fine while in Germany and now is exhibiting this problem at your new home, you may want to double check how it was installed. I suspect you may have a problem known as "siphoning". The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r587481-prevent_washer_siphoning

This could be a simple situation where the drain line on the washer is not installed correctly. There are minimum height and length requirments on the drain line. In addition, make sure the stand pipe you have the drain hose inserted in has a proper air gap to allow draining. All of this is explained in the link provided.

I hope this information is helpful to you. The majority of the situations arise from improper installation and is not an operaitonal problem with the washer. If, however, you double check everything and still have problems, please post back and let me know.

SOURCE: Whirpool lsq9244eqo fills and drains but does not spin or agitate

It sounds like the agitator gripping teeth are worn out. To check this, take the agitator cap off with a strong knife or flat-head screw driver, pull the cap off and check the plastice teeth and four plastic hooks that grab the teeth. If they are worn out, then you will have to replace the agitator. To replace it, you will see a nut that is between the circlular teeth. Unscrew the nut and pull the agitator up hard.

SOURCE: Washer not spinning/agitat

This problem is usually attributed to a broken motor coupling. The following link provides step-by-step instructions on how to replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385252-replacing_motor_coupling_whirlpool_top

The motor coupling is a small 3-piece component that is installed behind the drive motor and couples it to the transmission. It is common for these small couplers to break as they wear out. The key symptom in determining the cause is the fact the washer will not agitate, but still drains. The reason is because your drain pump is mounted on the front of the drive motor and will still run as long as the drive motor is running. The part number is provided in the link I gave you. A replacement coupler can be purchased at searspartsdirect.com, appliancepartspros.com, pcappliancerepair.com or repairclinic.com. All these sites offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop all of them for the best price. Make sure you "Search by Part Number" when looking up the part. This shouldn't cost more than $20. If you do not wish to order on line, take the part number I provided and go to your nearest appliance parts retailer. This is a common item they should have in their inventory.

If you have questions along the way, please let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

How do I fix washing machine to finish emptying during rinse and spin cycle?

Long shot, but does it fill the same as when new? I would check the atmospheric switch which is a hollow tube that runs down the inside of the drum(not in the wash cage) when the water fills, It pushes air up to stop the fill. It may have gotten clogged. Or partially clogged.

Beko WMP652W washing machine will start cycle but get stuck at end of wash, doesnt go onto rinse or spin any help please?

see the next steps and use the common sense: God bless you
When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Fills with water then does not rotate, also does not spin

Check for large items of clothes being tangled if the Bosch washing machine doesn't spin. The weight could not be evenly distributed in the drum and the spin cycle will have been disabled to prevent damage to the clothes..

Load the drum with large and small clothes together and run the entire washing cycle and spin cycle again.

Add more powder and run the entire washing and spin cycle again if you haven't found tangled large items, but the spin cycle still failed. This indicates the amount of cloths was too small.

Add 1 tablespoon of fabric softener to 1 pint of water and pour it into the main detergent dispenser if there's no tangling and the load was a normal size. The cause would have been excessive suds because of too much, or the wrong kind, of detergent. Use HE (High Efficiency) detergent in Bosch washing machines.
