I was getting the Lens Error message on my A730, even though my lens seemed to be working fine. I'd had the camera in my pocket, and apparently it tried to open but jammed. But it seemed to be OK except for the cursed Lens Error message when I'd power it on. The way I found to fix it is press and hold the "func/OK" button on the back, then turn the camera on. Now it's working again. Note that this may not work for you if your lens is actually screwed up. Mine wasn't.
GE A735 lens error, power up in view mode, and push firmly, while powering off, and it will retract and remove the error message!
This is happening on my camera, too.
If you look at the front of your camera, the lens will most likely be out and/or be crooked...Try to pop it back into place (my friend had the same problem and thats how she got hers to work). I'm still trying it on mine.

I also get lens error when i turn my camera on, and cannot take any pictures.
Same here... Suddenly, the camera said "lense error: 122,1,0,0". I could review the pictures, thats all. Sometimes, after saying this, the on would turn into a two. it would appear: "lense error: 222,1,0,0".
