Keep getting a LE error on LG WM2487HWMA Front Loader Washer Machine. I have replaced the hall sensor, the main control board, the STATOR assembly, and the rotor hub. I have inspected the wires for cuts and shorts. My machine still makes a terrible "grinding noise" and will not spin. I say "grinding noise" but I know there isn't any mechanical parts grinding.

i fixed mine about 5 times and its always some thing diffrent.
try buyng the inexpencive parts first and leave for last the electronic control panel.
it could be that your washing a smaller amount than the recomended.
Take it to a profesional. dont do like me a DIY guy. Some times i need to take pictures when taking the monster appart and then because they are somany screws missing duct tape, rope or hangerwire becomes usefull.
All mechanics are wise guys you and me are thevictims.

I replaced my hall effect sensor about two weeks ago and just hooked the machine back up a few dags ago. My wife ran about 5 loads through it and it shut down with the LE code again!!! I ordered the part from MCM Electronics and they are sending me a replacement part for free since the first one lasted only a day. Hopefully this is the last time I have to replace this part. It would be great if someone knew how to bench test one of those sensors so I could know for sure if my first one is really defective. I always have a hard time believing when a new part fails so soon.

if your getting LE code on your LG washer check if your hot and cold water is hooked up right

I had the same error code along with the drum "freezing" up. The first unit that was delivered 2 years ago leaked water from the detergent compartment and they sent a second unit. I have only had this unit for 2 years and I am very disappointed in the LG product. LG was no help on the phone and I the only people that could service it were 45min away from were I live. I took the advice of a posting on this website that it could be a part called the sensor assembly (#6501KW2002A) and ordered it from an online electronics store (www.mcminone.com). To get to the sensor assembly, you first unplug and take off the back plate that has 4 small screws. Next, unscrew the big bolt in the middle and take off the hubcap looking part the bolt was securing. Next unclip the two sets of wires on the bottom of the circle you are looking at (the set of wires to the right are connected to the sensor assembly you want to replace). Next you will unscrew the 6 or so smaller bolts to take off the circular piece that the sensor assembly is snapped to. Take it off, unclip the old sensor assembly and clip on the new one – and reassemble. This worked perfectly for me and the part only cost $18 bucks plus shipping. When working, this product works well but I will not be purchasing any LG products in the future.

LE is a locked rotor code, but usually means the sensor is not functioning. replace Hall sensor, if that doesn't fix it make surer the drum turns freely. the rotor never goes bad, and the stator almost never goes bad. replace board if sensor doesn't fix it.
Hello &
Welcome to FixYa
LE error in your LG front load washer is displayed
when either the motor is not working or the control board thinks that the motor
is locked up. A Hall effect sensor is used in these washer which monitors the
speed and direction of the motor and then forwards this information to the
control board. Hope you understand by now that this LE error is displayed when
their is an issue with the motor or when the hall effect sensor sends wrong
signal to the control. Conclusion is you'll have to check both motor and hall
sesor and replace the part# that is bad, usually I have seen the sensor going
bad. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

I can turn the drum by hand and it spins freely without any noise or grinding.
