After replacing drum catridge you should reset the drum counter in the following way

1.Identify the buttons used for adjusting exposure (darker or lighter copies), amount of copies, clear copies and start copying
2.Now press the following sequence of buttons: [CLR], [AURO], [CLR], [AUTO] all thes one by one
3.Your unit should turn off the numbers in the panel
4.Now press 24 as if asking for 24 copies and press [START].
4.Now press 07 as if asking for 7 copies and press [START].

This should reset your drum and it should stop flashing

What is the solution to 59.51 error on HP 500 color LaserJet printer.

59 error refers to a Printer motor Error.

59.51 however should not appear on screen.
59.5 is a "Print Cartriddge motor Startup error". The last character should be a letter for which Toner (ie. C, M, Y or K). However I would suggest that the 1 would be the Black motor (seeing as it is the top one). Considering you have replaced the DC controller recently I would say the most likely cause is you have either misconnected or not connected a cable. recheck all your DC controller connections and pay particular attention to connectors J1013 (Cyan Motor), J1031 (Magenta Motor), J1032 (Yellow Motor) and J1033 (Black Motor).

OR

1. Check the cyan cartridge for broken pieces and make sure the drum spins. if so, replace the cyan cartridge
2. Check that connections on the cyan print-cartridge drive motor and on the driver PCA are seated correctly.
3. Replace the cyan print-cartridge drive motor.
4.If error persists, Replace the driver PCA.
5. Replace the main drive assembly.

I have a SHARP al-1661cs copier/printer. i keep getting a "replace TD cartridge" message. I have replaced the cartridge and it still come on every couple of days. i take the cartridge out, shake it and the...

Are you having your cartridges refilled?
By "replace TD cartridge" message do you mean the little stack of 6 red dots on the control panel?
The sensor for this condition is contained within the toner cartridge. The sensor reads the mixture of developer to toner ratio and tells the machine to add toner when needed. If you are having this problem with 3 different toner cartridges then I would suspect the toner add drive system. If you are having just the 1 cartridge refilled and have had the problem with the last 3 refills then the cartridge itself may be the problem.
I'll let you repond then we will see if further info is required.

Bad copy from Sharp AL-1661CS

Try print from a pc, if those lines still appear then you should replace the drum unit. If not then clean the copy glass and the scanning mirrors.

Average useful life of Sharp AL-1661CS

With that machine the toner cartridge also contains developer. Without getting too in depth, it sounds like maybe your toner cartridge is leaking a bit of developer which takes with it a bit of toner. Developer is made up of tiny metal particles which are supposed to stay inside the developer unit. As the seals wear in the developer unit (which is part of the cartridge) it allows a little to leak out causing the problems you are seeing.
When you take the toner cart. out, at the rear side (part that goes the furthest into the machine) you'll see a white foam seal. If you notice some excess toner (and probably developer) sticking straight out from that, it could be that the seal has a jagged edge which is dragging developer off of the magnetic roller and depositing it on the drum making the line you speak of on the left hand side.
Also check to make sure the copier is sitting level, if it's not then the concentration of toner at one end of the developer unit is too great and some can be allowed to spill out.

So in short, it's probably not the drum that's at fault, it's more likely the toner cartridge.

Is it worth replacing? There's no easy way to answer that. If the machine is used in a fairly high volume workplace, it's probably worth replacing. If you could get by with a smaller cheaper machine (brother, HP, lexmark etc.) that does printing, scanning, faxing and copying you may be better off.

Drum cartridge - generic

Sharpe are correct there is no known button sequence I know about as the drum normally has a resistor that blows when installed resetting the drum count.

Please Help -- Erroneous Lines from Auto-Paper-Feeder

Not familiar with this particular machine, but it sounds like one which uses a seperate scanner when drawing originals from the sheet feeder. Have a look to see if there's a glass strip to the side of the main copier face. If so, give that a careful clean. A.
