Burning rubber smell indicates that you must have a worn out belt that is starting to slip making the burnt rubber smell. I think you need to replace at least one belt, maybe more upon inspection of the rest.
Anytime someone says they smell something burning on any type of vacuum cleaner of carpet cleaner etc. All I can think of is the belt is rubbing on plastic which would cause the sense of something burning because you possibly are smelling the belt........
It means ur Belt is starting to rip and it It is probably getting tangled up in the motor so it burns and smells or something is in the tredmill like a blastic bag or something so I would look at that
Belt can reamin intact but still jam and burn. It won't necessarily break. I suggest you remove the bottom of the vacuum where the bristles spins and where the belt is located. You may have something jammed in there. You may need to remove the bristle to get the belt out. Inspect the belt and replace after clearing the obstruiction.
A burning smell means you have some slipping of the drive belt. I think your belt needs to be replaced. Another reason may be a binding in the tub. possibly a seized tub bearing. The only way to know is to take off the access cover at the back of the washer and visually inspect it first. you can spin the tub by hand from the back and this will give you an idea of what is binding.
if it smell's like rubber it likley is .. smell's like a belt driven and it needs a replacment belt & idler .. remove the two screws at the bottom of front panel an remove .. in the front center at the bottom .is the motor / belt and pump .. if there is black rubber in bottom / wala . the belt is burning . / look for pump leakage / this would get belt wet and slip.. thanks mm .
Your drive belt may have broken if it smelled like rubber burning. If that is the case then your motor bearing are worn out or something has been lodged between your dryer drum and the dryer housing. If the smell was the odor of burning plastic, then your motor is probably burned up.
Sounds like the belt has burnt off. You can check this by tilting the machine back and looking under it. Sometimes the belt gets hard and just starts to slip, then it will smoke and burn off. If this is the case, Just replace the belt and this will fix it.
Hi. What does the burning smell of? Is it 'rubbery', or is it acrid and 'chemically'?! The most common item to 'burn' is the belt which drives the rotating brush at the front. Does your cleaner have a belt? This would give a burning rubber smell.
The instructions should explain how to change the belt - have a close look and see if the belt has been slipping on the motor spindle. If it has, then it'll probably be worn at this point and should be replaced. A common cause of this happening is the brush bar getting caught in something - edge or rug, etc - and being forced to a standstill.
If the smell is more 'acrid', it could be a problem with the motor. This is a repair service job.
