My problem with this tv is the black display with no sound or beep when i press the power button and the Green light come on(everything connect right). When i press the power button again and there is no Red light. I thought there should be a Red light(power light?) come come on everytime turn off tv. I already replace the backlight inverter but the problem still the same. I brought the power board to Moniserve to get it check and they said it fine. I connect everything correctly on back. Can someone please give me some advice. Thank you so much.........Thanks

I have an issue where the tv status light will come on, but there will be no display. After a few seconds the tv seems to produce a soft high pitch squeel. In talking with viewsonic support they thought it "might" be the B-00005963 power supply, but not %100 sure.

I have the back panel taken of and looked at the power board, but nothing looks toasted.

    Any ideas?

I have the same problem!!!! Is this normal for an LCD TV, it's only been 2 years! Has anyone gotten the board and fixed this yet?

How did you get the back off? I have removed all the screws but cannot get it to seperate.

  • Anonymous May 21, 2008

I have exactly the same problem. Bought it 2 years ago from buy.com.

This looks like a lemon. Anyone knows how to invoke the lemon law for this type of problem?

  • slythepooh Jun 13, 2008

I have similar problem. I bought the tv less than 2 years. Turn on tv for a second then no screen afterward. I took it to repair shop, estimate $300 to repair ($180 for power supply, $120 labor). Not sure if it is worth to repair. Will not buy viewsonic again!

I have the same issues the problem is the powers suply, how can a get a new power suply for this TV?

  • cascadian Dec 03, 2008

    Removing the back -

Once you remove all the fascia screws, you must go to the back side of the outer edge where the plastic meets. Carefully put a flat blade in and gently pry the outer ring from the inner ring. Keep going around the unit and pry the pieces apart gently

I have a Viewsonic N2751W with no power light and no response to on/off button. The TV was made in August 2006 and purchased in October 2006 direct from Viewsonic. Is there anything inside the power supply that might have failed that I can replace or does it need a new power supply? If a power supply costs $180 and another $100 to replace, I would rather buy a Sony or Samsung, something that will last more than 2 years.

Check out this website, it's got everything you need. I have to give all the credit to Alain, a brilliant guy in France who dug in and solved the problems. he gives instructions for the professional to fix the problem, but he also gives the sources for the power supply board to be purchased and for the little chip that causes most of the problems. I decided to take a risk and save some money and bought just the chip for $20 and very carefully soldered it in after removing the old one. The tv is fine a month later. The board comes out with no soldering, just some quick connectors and the back of the tv will come apart after you remove all the screws and the base by gently prying the back case from the front bezel along the sides of the tv. if you look closely, you will see the small cavities to pry from.

here's the website:

I just replaced ALL the capacitors on the power supply and it fired right up. The 3 1000uf caps were swelled up so I replaced those first and tried it but it still did not fire up. Then I decided to just replace them all and sure enough, it works just fine. I could test them all now that they are out of the circuit but to be honest, you shoudl replace them all anyway since chances are one of the others would go soon. For the price, replace them.

My answer is for the original post by tphan80. You have a damaged video board(av in/out). You may be able to repair the bad solders yourself, I tried which fixed it for a while but still had problems where it would not shut off, change channel, or volume.
Good luck.

A major issue with these supplies is q7, a small surface mount npn transistor. When this puppy goes bad, the supply pulsates, meaning your +5v line may run from 4.0-5.9 and it oscillates back and forth. It also causes I believe c36 to fail as well. Replace this transistor, I use any reasonable npn transistor and u should be fine.

So where can I find this board??? viewsonic web site says out of stock - so where else are they available? Has a specific component on the board been identified as being the cause for the issue?

I have the same problem and I sent the unit to Viewsonic and they said that they have to replace B-00005963. The cost of this part is 61.68 + tax and 250.00 to install it.

I have an N3250W-L it has the screen White, normal sound.May be one blown fuse in the "T CON" Board?

Hello,

Problem is in either power supply or the Y-Sustain board.

The Y-Sustain is a relatively large board out of which go connections to the side of the display; it's therefore closer to either the left or the right side of the display, has at least one rather large heat sink on it and fat power cables connecting it to the main power supply.

Often there are fuses on that board - one or more. Check those.

if they are blown you can try to replace them, but expect them to blow again - usually the whole board needs to be replaced.

Hope this will help out in solving the problem......

ViewSonic N3250W will not turn on

Do you get a red standby light at all? If not, I'd look first for the standby transformer as being defective. There may also be a fuse right by the AC power cord. Look around inside and update this with your results. Post whether or not there is a standby. We'll need to go step by step on this one.

My Viewsonic N3250w tv I have had for 4 years no longer powers up. If you hit the button it lights up around the switch but then almost immediately powers back down. Does this sound like a power supply...

Power supply module will be the first thing to check, look for bad caps, find out if it has standby 5vdc and other voltages.

Viewsonic N3250w. Power supply went out and I replaced the bad capacitors. TV worked for a week then now when I turn it on, the screen just turns on and off

Check to see if the 24vdc disappear when the screen black out, it is always there then you have problem in the backlight inverter board. Did you replace the caps in the 24vdc supply also? I replace the whole set.

ViewSonic N3250w has black line

Unfortunately, my experience with LCDs says that when you see something like this, it usually indicates that the LCD screen is cracked. If you press gently in the area of deformity and it goes clear then returns to black when you remove pressure, it's a tell-tale sign of a cracked screen. Go to e-bay and see if you can get a replacement screen if you're mechanically up to changing it yourself, else an electronics repair shop might be your only hope.
