Hello Pinkyman, indicates the model of the Teac that you are commenting, in order to find the best possible solution
Try playing recorded CDs and if you read them, there would be no conflict in the reader, if this does not happen, clean the reader lens with a swab moistened with alcohol and then dry it with the other end of the swab
Comment the results, I await your response

The most likely explanation is some dirt or dust on the lens inside of the machine.

Computer Burned discs are a grey area for some players[different firmware/chipsets] There is a list on the web of players and what they will play a Google/Yahoo will reveal. Also checkout the manual that came with the player.

You don't need to delete timer rec programs to Finalize, Format or Erase discs!
Set the Mag 2160A (mfgd in 2009) to Source L3 (DV) using the Source button on the remote.
To Format a RW disc, set unit on L3 BEFORE inserting a new disc cuz the Formatting op is automatic and starts right away. It's also so short on a +RW (longer on a -RW) that you could think it had been Formatted.
Finalizing requires you to select it from the Disc Edit menu, so you can set the unit on L3 after inserting a disc for this op.
More into on all aspects of setup and op are here:

Testimonial: "it worked! i have had this unit for almost a year and love everything about it except that it would not finalize the disc. thanks!"
The recorder was switched off/unplugged after recording without ejecting the disc. The recorder could not write essential recording information onto the disc.
While REPAIR is displayed, the recorder automatically examines the recorded area of the disc and updates the track numbers and recording time data. This process takes about 40 minutes for a fully recorded disc. Finalization or further recording is possible once the REPAIR message disappears.
