LG model WM0642H.
Are you talking about one of the 7or 8 screws/bolts that hold the stator in place/ and one of them cannot be tightened to stay tight/

I have the maytag MAV6057AWW. I had the same problem and today i am discovering that others are having the same problem i was. It first started with the no agitation after the rinse cycle. I emptied out the water and clothes etc. I lifted it, took it apart practically and discovered all was ok. I couldnt figure it out because after putting it back together it worked properly. After a few days it didnt agitate for the wash cycle after filling up with water. I was confused. But then I got pissed of and I slammed the lid shut and it began to work.
It was the switch. I havent replaced the switch, but i have learned to cope with the fact that i have to open and close the lid a 2 or 3 times times before it goes into the cycle.
When it doesn't agitate, its not a mechanical problem, but a safety switch that is failing to close. So either replace your switch or play with the lid a bit.

Solution. Unplug the machine. Hold the power button for 10 seconds. Plug back in. Push the power button and the washer should turn on. Walk away leaving the machine on. When I did this, I came back to find the drum light off and machine would start on command now. Good luck.

It is so common that the washing machine can make terrible noise in many ways and is a common fault. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that machine is vibrating when it is running then the motor /drum suspension has to be inspected. Since these fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for the noise with a good inspection lamp. If the belt is worn out or is loose or damaged then it will not turn the drum but make noise. so this can be an issue in your case. Manually turn the motor and drum and listen for the noise, if so the motor bearings, the drum agitator shaft and fittings must be checked. Also the suspensions which include the shock absorbers and springs, the body clamps must be checked to be in correct alignment and not changed in position. Tightening of the mounting is also very important. Finally in most cases a drop of OIL or smear of grease on the moving parts cane solve most issues.
