Why is my ibm wheelwriter 1000 Is printing the wrong letters or numbers. For example when typing the little g it print n or d print a b what can it be

Sounds like the small plastic cap on the solenoid plunger is broken. The part is available for about 15.00 but it is a little tricky to install.

With my IBM Thinkpad, I had to hold Shift+ScrLk to turn off Number Lock.

SOURCE: acer travelmate 4050 keyboard prints wrong keys

Hold the Fn key then hit F11. This toggles the numeric nubers to letters and vice versa.
