When I turn on my TV it acts like an old 1960's tv that has vacuum tubes and needs to warm up before I have a viewable picture. It takes about 10 minutes to warm up before I can see anything. The sound is fine but that's about it. Once it warms up, it still flickers constantly. When it doesn't flicker, it has constant movement on top of the screen. It's about 8 years old. Is it worth getting looked at?
Yes, I used to work in Best Buy and one of the key things about rear projection TVs and the reason they push those service plans on you is that the tubes/colors need to be calibrated each year. You can do this yourself by checking out the following website:

You tv has failing capacitors in the video processing section . its a whole 5 bucks in parts .you just gotta find someone that knows how to replace 'em.
