I have the Hobart N-50 Service manual and have removed the drip cup and driven out the taper pin. The planetary, even with moderate persuasion, will not come off. Looks like the shaft may be seized to the planetary.
Try this.
Take two flat blade screwdrivers and slip the blades between the planetary and the mixer body (on opposite sides) pry it off.
This has worked for me.
Testimonial: "Thanks, John, for your suggestion. I was able to complete what I wanted to do (renew grease, ensure gears were is good shape) without having to remove the planetary. Have the N-50 back together and it is running smoothly so I shall leave it for now. Will try your approach when I need to service again."
