SOURCE: can't get gas to go in tank, and it will spit out gas
there is a breather pipe running long the filler pipe, if u look at the furl cap there should be a small hole that lets out air as u fill up, i think that this is blocked .

I have the same problem with my 2005 sentra. It is the vent control valve. The only cheap way to fix this would be to take it off and spray wd-40 and see if it works. You could also get the part form a junk yard. Nissanpartsdirect also has it. I beleive it is officially called the vapor canister.

You need to replace the flapper and you will need to purchase one specifically for the Kohler toilet. I have the same toilet and tried using a generic flapper and from experiance, it didn't work until I bought the correct one and I'm a plumber! Have a great night.

My brothers 97 silverado did the same thing. He replaced the fuel pump and the problem stopped.

Every gas tank has a vent tube, so when you fill the tank, air can escape, while the fuel is being pumped into the tank. Some vent tubes are metal, some rubber. Yours is either collapsed or plugged up. Look at the fill tube in the firebird and follow it from the gas cap to the tank, there should be a 2nd smaller tube that is your vent tube. Check to see if it's collapsed, pinched, or bent. This is definitely your problem. Check out this web site for pictures of different fill and vent tubes to get an idea of what to look for. Good luck let me know how you make out. Curt
