How do I open a Yamaha rav368 remote? - Yamaha Audio Players & Recorders

Sounds like the IR Board has failed. Open it up and see if there are any signs of component damage. Yamaha Service Centres are excellent. Not much online about it.

if the supplied owners manual does not specify how to replace the battery, contact Yamaha. worst case you'll have to purchase another remote, sorry!

Using a small blade screwdriver you have to now pry the two parts open.

hi i have the same problem. yamaha rx-v870 with a remote control that works perfectly except for the volume up/down. i pressed the buttons for a minute and applied some lemon gunk remover liquid and this helped for a very short period. i am wondering if the problem is with the little motor inside the receiver that rotates the volume knob itself, as opposed to an infrared problem on the transmitter/receiver.

a universal remote will do.but check first if your unit/brand is included, just to be sure.

Remove the small screw in the battery compartment then put the long edge of a kitchen knife in the groove & twist. The case will snap open at that point then work your way around until it parts. Clean the contacts inside with Isopropyl alcohol & that should solve your problem.

hey hows it going i also have the same remote.
what youll need is a #4 (small) and remove the two samll screws under the battery's. also you will need a small screw driver (flat head) it would be better if you have two.
what youll need to do is start in thecenter of the remote and slide the screw driver down the side of the remote keep one screw driver in as you slide and pry the remote apart. there are four latch's on the remote on each side (three along remote bottom center and top)
also on each side of the infared light that should be it just repeat the process on the both side and u should be good.
