Another possibility is that they might have cranked the volume up on it and blew one or more of your speakers. The voice coils could be rubbing and grounding out causing your issues.

Everything depends on the car stereo and amp setup that you have. That info is very important. Um without that it's just a shot in the dark. Possible stereo settings for amp were changed, amp failure, amp wiring fault or the good old it just doesn't feel like working.

SOURCE: My bose car stereo system

The problem is in the power amplifier section. If you a preamp out connector you can troubleshoot using another power amp between that and the speakers but you may need a schematic to isolate to the components at fault. Bose is worth fixing and if you can remove it yourself you will save money by getting it to a bench technician, even a TV repair shop can fix it. Steve Medley

All you need is a high-low converter. you just hook up the speaker wires to it. It converts to rca jacks.

SOURCE: My lexus rx 3500's stereo jammed-"error 4"

I also own a rx 330 and my car has the same error. This is a manufacture defect. Unfortunalely if your car is no longer under warranty the price to replace is approx $800. The cost for the radio is $650 and labor is $150. The lexus dealership will tell you that they won't fix it as they are unable to but they will order a new one. There are many other blogs regarding other lexus rx 330 owners who have experienced the same problem. I have been searching tirelessly to find a way to avoid paying the monies as my car is out of warranty. I have had no success. I wish you the best.

SOURCE: clarion dxz545mp amp guard

, the message you are getting is "amp guard". This is the mesage it will display when a short in a speaker wire or speaker with low impedence is hooked to the internal amp and sends it into protect mode, shutting down the amplifier section while the rest of the unit continues to work.

check all of your speakers

2000 mustang convertable amp problems

Are you sure the amplifiers are trashed? Have you checked the fuses? A reputable car audio shop could help for a fee of course, but it may be worth the price. It's odd that (all) the amps would malfuntion simultaniously unless someone unqualified messed with the wiring or the radio has a defective trigger wire (turns the amps on). You'll be sadly disapointed with any new radio without the factory amps, especially with the convertable ... I strongly suggest getting the amps (the factory system) working again.

CDs and Ipod wont play with Alpine CDA-9885

The Alpine has two tigger wires when it turns on. One is an AMP TURN ON wire (blue/white) and a PWR ANT wire (blue) and that wire only comes on when using the radio or an optional HD radio unit ... When it was installed/connected . someone hooked your amp turn on wires for your "full range amps" to the PWR ANT wire. And the sub amp trigger is either hooked correctly to the AMP TURN ON WIRE or somewhere else, it probably shouldn't be... Check it. Amp triggers should all be to the blue/white wire from your alpine. Warning: Alpine trigger wires, are very easy to mess up they supply a very limited amount of power.
