Hi There, 1. Make sure there is no dye film stuck to the print roller. This will cause card mis-registration (you will see feathered edges or a blurry effect. If there is dye film stuck to the print roller peel it off using adhesive tape or similar (the dye film will stick to the tape). You can move the print roller round with your finger quite easily. Then clean with a normal cleaning card. Afterwards check your print start and end position (you may be printing off the end of the card - also snaps the ribbon often!) 2. Make sure the other pinch rollers are really clean. 3. ** Check the warranty status first! *** Remove the right-hand side panel (2 screws on the side, 3 at the back). Check for free play on the card transport stepper motor pulley (there should be none!). Check the belt tension is not too loose (motor is adjustable - loosen 4 screws)). Hold the print roller with your left hand while trying to turn the large plastic pulley. You should feel no play. The grub screw on the pulley can sometimes come loose (1.5mm hex key required). Do NOT try to use a ball ended hex key. This only rounds off the grub screw socket. I hope the above helps! Regards, MC.

Registering machine, but serial number on back of it is not working...

Are you registering the machine with the manufacturer, or the Windows installation with Microsoft?

Edit: I would look for a voice contact or a technical support online chat at the manufacturer. Since we don’t know your make or model, or what the issue is with your serial, we are limited what we can do.
If you bought the machine new, it should be no problem. If you bought it used or secondhand, it is not unusual for warranty and support to be only offered to the first purchaser.

Error code 24:06 magicard

Hi There,
General Error 24:06 may indicate a problem with the front card sensor (very rare though). Open the lid, remove the dye film. Check that there are no cards jammed near the front of the printer (just before the flipper unit).
Try unplugging the printer. Cancel all print jobs if any are pending.
Plug in the printer. Once initialised, open the lid, run through the cleaning sequence (a Magicard cleaning kit - 3633-0053 is required). If the problem persists even after cleaning, contact your Magicard dealer. The warranty status can be checked here;

Cards are printing with the last couple of cms completely black

Hello Sam,
The most common reason for this issue would be an over stretched dye film advance drive belt. This happens as they get older.

Send an email to;

[email protected]

Quote your printer's serial number (on the rear of the printer).
We can arrange to send you a replacement drive belt (RIO/0037/R).
The belt is very easy to fit (2 minutes work!). It fits behind the right-hand side cover, at the rear of the printer.

I receive the error 'Network Initialization Failed: Permission Denied' when trying to launch Magicard ID software

Hi There,
This error happens when the user does not have read / write access to a file called PDOXUSRS.NET. Earlier versions of Magicard ID (before V3.02) stored this file on the root of the C: drive. If running on Windows Vista, the file cannot be accessed. The last version released (V3.05) in 2008 will run on Vista (32 bit only). If you are running V3.05 already, and still see this error, search for 'PDOXUSRS.NET'. It is probably in 'C:\Program Files\Magicard-ID\data'. Check the permissions on the file you must have read / write access to it. Try logging on as local admin. ensure any users who run Magicard ID have read / write permissions to this file. Magicard ID V3.05 can be found here;

Hello We cannot supply authorization codes for you. Registering requires infor from yopu about name address email etc and then the code is sent to you. The URL in the software is wrong. Go to www.adobe.com select support and report your problem They will assist you in registering and getting the code.

I cant print cards using cardfive software and magicard rio print

Hi There,

First of all, for Windows Vista, you need to be using the very latest driver (V6.02).
You can download this by following the link below;

Just enter your printer's serial number in the QuickSearch box.

Please Note: - With CardFive software, you need to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the printer list, then select the printer driver with the Windows logo next to it called 'Magicard Printer Series'.

If you still can't print from the CardFive software, can you print the Windows test page?
