Question about Dual Cell Phones

Open Question

I need to remove the cistern lid of my Porcher dual flush as it is not flushing

The problem is that the two flush buttons appear to be fixed together, they do not press/flush independently. This means the normal method of pushing one in and lifting the other out does not work. Any ideas?

SOURCE: I have a Vitra dual

Have you tried to remove the outer ring by unscrewing it before you attempt to remove the buttons? I don,t think you should remove the buttons first.

Fixing toilet flushing

A lot depends on siphon in cistern and cistern.

The old cisterns were 9 ltrs and rule and regs brought that down to 7 - 7.5. Most siphons have a dual flush, press and left go for short flush and press and hold for long. Long flush for heavy waste and short for just liquid.

Flush button, when pressed nothing happens

Grasp the collar that surrounds the button and turn counterclockwise to unscrew it and allow the cover to be removed.
Hope this helps.

Leaking toilet from overflow

if you flush and the water continues to run into the bowl the it is the flush washer that needs repalcing
If that water shuts off and the cistern fills and then continues so that it flows down the over flow pipe into the bowl the it is the water inlet control washer that needs replacing

Cant get the lid off a push button cistern

There are some dual flush cisterns where you have to depress one button to reveal a cavity in the second button. Put a screwdriver in that cavity to left out the second button, then release the first button and pry that out.

Underneath the buttons is a screw which must be unscrewed to release the cistern lid.

Not sure if this will apply to you... but if not, good luck anyway.

How do I get the lid off a stylus toilet cistem

Solution I received " lever up the two flushing buttons with a fine blade screwdriver.

They may be a push fit on two plastic posts. Once off, they reveal a screw between them. Release this to remove the cistern lid. Make a note of the position of the buttons as they only fit one way round."
