Try this...... Remove the front panel to access the bulb. There are 2 screws on either side of the tv right behind the screen. You may be able to remove them with just your hands. It will make sense when you see them. Once they are loose the panel will pop off. There are 2 magnets that help hold it on, so just pull gently. In the middle you'll see a another scew that you need to loosen. Slide the bar off, remove the cover and you'll see the black box that holds your bulb. There is an allen screw on the left side that will need to be loosened. Once that is loose, the whole unit slides out. Is the top of the vent screen really dirty? If it is, flip it over and try dusting it off with a soft brush, maybe a tooth brush. Try to keep most of the dust out of the bulb itself though, just be gentle. Pop it back in with the reverse order.......
I have the same problem and I replaced the lamp and is working fine
I have had the same problem as well. Called Sony and they had me unplug for 1 minute, then replug. They said that it had to be serviced. Taht's all the help they gave me. They told me that since the bulb replacement light was not on, then it certainly wasn't the bulb. Called an electronics expert in the area and he thinks it's a power supply issue.
