Disconnect led's and tcon...still no 24v (0v)...12v line at 8.7v...
Turn on unit. Use a flashlight and shine from top down on the panel. Look very close. If you see a very faint image of anything. The power supply board needs replacing.

SOURCE: NO PICTURE, NO SOUND, TV TURNS ON THEN TURNS OFF
Well, Everything said on this site is true. I recently had a breakdown on the same type of TV and through this site and the comments left, I was able to repair my tv for less than $50. (Extra cost for upgrading my soldering iron that wasn't getting hot enough) It was amazing. The feeling when the tv powered up and stayed on. Credit goes to Howard and Chris Palmer for their comments. It is possible. You just have to commit and do it. Its not as hard as you might think. Thanks guys.

The flashing may indicate a failed power supply. Or a bad backlight tube.
Only 3 months old? Any warranty?
Considering its age I would say a defective part or poor assembly is to blame.

Thats usually caused by the cp150, CP120 or CP114 capacitor having failed. You can get the repair kit by the same name from www.tvrepairworld.com The kit contains the caps and the instructions.
