The protocol is failing after the check frame is received. Most likely noisy tel line, but could be attenuation problem. Either way, have the lines checked by telco.

There should be an icon on the device showing a rectangle and what appears to be a triangle on top of it. This is showing you a folded page. If there are no lines on the rectangle with lines on the triangle then you insert the page face down (print on page towards the device) if the rectangle has the lines and the triangle doesn't, you insert face up (print facing you while in the inserting into the machine)
If you have any more concerns address your owners manual, this can usually be found on a CD that came with your printer or at HP's support website.
