there is a button at left side of you or right side of your canon. push the button then the scanner part will be rise automatic. then you can see the cartridge. good luck
My canon copier pc735 says we have a paper jam- but it does not. We just replaced the cartridge and it wont work. I had them send me a new cartridge, but its the same thing- paper jam. Help!
Main lamp is most likely burned out or is shorting. You can google it and find a replacement bulb. Not too difficult to replace. Remove the top cover and glass. Make sure your hands are very clean or use a clean cloth to handle the new bulb.
I think you have two different issues here. The black screen may be due to a CCD failure. Canon has a worldwide service notice regarding this issue, and will repair your unit at no cost if they determine this is the problem (it sounds like it is).
The little red symbol indicates your backup battery (or date/time battery) CR1616 needs to be replaced. It is located behind a small square panel which you can see to the left of the menu buttons when you open the LCD panel.
For the problem with the personal copier pc735 paper jam, I had the same problem. I was told the problem might be fixed by downloading the drivers and reload them. The PC735 I have does not have drivers nor a scan. My problem was a spring fell off on the idler gear and had to be reattached. I then cleaned the interior and this fixed the copier. You might look to see if a spring came loose on the back side of the bottom frame. I'm no machanic so I had a canon rep fix it for me. This fixed my problem. No more paper jam light.
