The battery compartment is on the underside, between the display and the foot to its left. Turn the scale over, and the compartment will now be near the foot to your right. It's about 1" x 2" and slightly oval. IIRC, there was a sticker covering it when I bought mine. There's the word "OPEN" and an arrow pointing to your left. Just to make it interesting, move the little latch the OPPOSITE of the way the arrow points to unlatch it! Pull up an you're in. The battery goes in with the positive side up as you're looking at the upside-down scale. It's a CR2032 cell I think, should be easy to find at Walgreens or Radio Shack.

SOURCE: conair ww39 glass bathroom scale won't work- batteries in wrong maybe? Help please!

Googled around until I found specifications for an unrelated brand of a similar bathroom scale. It mentioned making sure batteries were flat side uppermost in their compartment, which did the trick.

i believe that, like most electronic scales, the first time you get on the scale you must step off to allow it to zero itself. Then step back on to get your correct weight.

SOURCE: Problem changing battery for Conair Thinner Scale TH300

My scale is an older model, "can't locate model# in or outside" sticker on back plate is RH697. Scale was purposely setup so that no one can change the battery but a tech. Back plate had no instruct as to where battery is and the 4 small phillips screws were covered with rubber filler. I scraped off the rubber filler and opened it up, inside was a computer board which I took out (6 tiny phillip screws) to get to the battery (it was the expected 3V) the battery was front and back soldered in. That was enough for me, this company is nothing but a bandit forcing you to a tech (est. cost 45-60$) or to make another purchase. True piracy, I'm throwing it out. Make sure when buying anything that runs on batteries that the product offers ease of replacement, I am disgusted with Thinner.

I have a Thinner glass/brass round bathroom scale and I cannot find the battery location. I purchased this about 10 years ago from Frontgate but they couldn't help me. Can you?

I have a 10 year old Thinner bathroom scales also. Apparently the manufacturer designed it to make battery replacement hard so you'd buy a new scales. To replace the battery, if your unit is similar to mine, turn it over, remove all the screws and separate the top and bottom. You'll see the glass window that shows the weight. It is held in place by four tabs that are slightly twisted. Straighten them, lift the glass assembly clear without straining the wires, and turn it over to reveal the round black battery case. It is secured by three small screws and clear epoxy. Remove the epoxy with a knife blade, remove the screws, and separate the two halves of the case on one side being careful not to separate the other side where there is a metal connection piece. Using the knife tip, remove the CR2032 battery and replace it with a new one (available at Radio Shack or similar stores). Reassemble in reverse order; no need to replace epoxy. My scales worked fine after that.
