Sounds like the power outage was a power surge and destroyed your printer, especially if your printer was not plugged into a power surge protector strip. Check with others in your apartment to see if they experienced the same. If so, your landlord may be responsible and can put in a claim. If your printer is still under warranty, contact Canon. Also, check to see if this item is covered by tenant insurance, if you have coverage. Hope this helps.

You can try to power up with the printhead out, that sometimes causes it to not power up. Otherwise that machine is fried since you can't get a replacement logic pcb anymore.

Open the main cover and the head will move into the centre of the carriage.Just to its right face up is a sticker that says serial no: xxxx12345. thats it. I too have a MX410 and its a great little machine.

I just found a thread in Apple support forum which has fixed this problem for us - we have been battling with it for months. It is probably to do with it thinking it is a USB print queue, instead of wireless.

I had this problem before, just open the cover, pull out the cartridges, it wont pull by itself, cause there is no power, so pull the wire!!!, remove the cartridges and turn the the power! it works!!!
