SOURCE: Need Infrared Remote Code...

I had the same problem and it took an act of Congress to solve it. However, I can tell you that through much more hard work and time than it should have taken I discovered the infrared code for my "One-For-All" remote model URC-4021B00 is--0651. Not sure if it's the same for any other remote control models, but give it a shot.

SOURCE: COMCAST REMOTE AND SAMSUNG TV

I was having the same issue with a Samsung 4053 40"

Comcrap had no clue.

Their phone rep suggested I come in and trade out the remote. That seemed unlikely if others are having the same experience. It is also unlikely a phone rep would have any answer other than what on the web page.

I used 5 digit code "10060" and it worked got the double flag from the remote like Comcast's documentation says. It turns TV on and off and works volume. So far so good.

The key to figuring it out was getting the double flash on the remote 4 digits didn't 5 did.

The moral of our story? Comcast has no clue what they push out the door. I guess that isn't a surprise to anyone.

Where is the remote sensor located on the Toshiba TN55X81 TV? (I need to locate for placement of IR transmitter.) Thanks!

a neeto hack to do this is to use a electronic video camera (your phone works too) , just set camera to no back light or low light , and using your remote pointed at tv , view the tv thru the cameras view finder , ahhh there it is !!! it twinkles at you !!!

how this works is that electronic video cameras for low light can see wider spectrum of light than human eye they then interpret it and send it to the monitor or screen , and hey infrared remotes are "wide spectrum "

Samsung ir sensor

Infrared sensor can be located, just behind the infrared sensor window, at the front panel of the TV. You have to open the TV, and take out the front panel PCB, to reach and reparable this component.
The component will look somewhat like these.

I need to replace the infrared sensor unit for Vizio L37 HDTV.

Good day!!!

Before I answer your question let me clarify something..

  1. What sensor you need to replace is it on the remote IR (infrared) or the receiver on your TV?
  2. Did you try other remote control?
  3. How did you say that you need to replace the IR sensor or receiver on your TV?
To test the remote please use a digital camera..How? place the shot to infrared of your remote then look at the screen of your camera after that press any button on your remote and look if the IR sensor lights up..

Please answer all my clarifications for me to diagnose the exact problem..Because replacing of IR sensor on TV is difficult..

Thank you for using fixya and choosing my service..

My samsung led remote control has just stopped working and i can't get it to work again. I've changed the batteries and i cannot find the reset button. I've unplugged the power from the wall and still no...

We need to find out first if the remote is putting out the IR signals or not, or the problem is in the TV IR receiver module.
Testing remote control:
The remote control puts out IR (InfraRed) signal that human eyes cannot see, to find out if the remote is sending out the signal or not you just point the remote at the digital camera's Lens (Digital Camera can detect IR), you should see flashing light on the camera's screen when any one of the remote button is pushed. If you do see the flashing on the camera, then the problem is in the TV IR receiver or the main logic board; more troubleshooting with scope will be needed to look at the signals.

The remote control sensor on my new television does not work. I have tried several remote controls and none of them work. Is there a way I can fix this myself or do I need to wait for a technician to come...

Unfortunately, only remote can do.

If you have a philip screw driver, soldering iron and soldering lead at your home and have the guts to make the DiY, then, here is what you need to do.

Turn off the TV
On your tv, locate where the ir sensor (infrared sensor). Open the back cover of your television using the Philip Screw driver. Manage to access the small pc board where the ir sensor was attached. Examine closely the ir sensor board. Using your soldering iron and lead, try to resolder all the terminals in the ir sensor board.

After you resolder, then, return it back. And Turn on your televison.

Hope this helps!
