#1 DO NOT USE IT IF IT IS VENTING SMOKE INTO THE HOUSE. Seriously, CO poisoning is not what you want.

#2 Please tell us the make and model, so we can figure out what E1 means.

SOURCE: Error code E1 -F5- Broil element comes on and wont shut off

I just did the self clean option and when it was done I received the error code E1 -F5- and it does have to do with the door latch. After turning off the power to the stove I was able to open the door and wiggled the latch and that solved the problem.......

SOURCE: I constantly got E1 Error code on my Kenmore Elite H3 GAS dryer

E1 error code indicates an open thermistor or open thermistor circuit. A thermistor is a component that relays the temperature in the dryer to the control board. If the thermistor has failed, Error code E1 will be displayed.
You need to call a repair person to fix it.

Alternative Heating Pellet Stoves and Pellet Inserts

Pellet stoves usually use wood pellets as their primary heat source. A pellet stove is defined as a stove that burns either compressed wood or biomass pellets to make heat to warm a home or other space.

Pellet stoves come as either free-standing units or fireplace pellet inserts which can be vented into an existing chimney. As an insert, you are able to replace your wood burning stove with this efficient and cost effect stove. Inserts also give the homeowner more of the look of a fireplace than that of a pellet stove. Pellet inserts can also be a great alternative for people who have busy lifestyles and are looking to get the beauty of a fire but prefer a cleaner burning renewable heat source.

Pellet stoves are freestanding structures that can give you the feeling that an old pot bellied stove did, tucked into a corner of a living room, den, or kitchen. Either the pellet inserts or freestanding stoves are a great alternative heating solution for keeping a house warm during the winter.

Many stove manufacturers recommend the using a corn and pellet mixture, but some are UL listed for many fuels other than pellets. These can include wheat, corn, sunflower seeds, and cherry pits.

Pellet stoves are a bit more efficient, burn cleaner, and are easier to use than conventional wood burning stoves. Pellet stoves often look very similar to wood stoves or fireplace inserts, however the similarities end there.

If you are considering burning alternative fuels then you will want to look into a pellet stove as a great way to heat your home. Pellet stoves and pellet insets have many great advantages over regular wood stoves that make them a practical heat for busy lifestyles.

I have a Witfield Optima 3 and the lense in front of the flame sensor keeps getting smoke and soot build up causing it not to feed pellets and the stove goes out. What can I do?

I really don't know much about these things but a well designed stove would arrange for a portion of the draught to be channeled past the lens in what could be described as an air curtain in order to keep it relatively clear of smoke.

I expect your stove could use a thorough clean and it might be possible that some small but important component has been left out during past cleaning operations.
I suggest you obtain a parts list/exploded drawing and ensure everything is present and in good condition.

We have a heilsa pellet stove model#QCPS-28000 ,its dropping pellets to fast ,how do I adjust the feed.

  1. SET THE AIR INLET DAMPERS
It is not possible for the manufacture to factory set your stove to work properly without some adjustments. The dampers help control the amount of airflow supplied for combustion.
A damper PUSHED IN all the way, maximizes concentrated air flow to the burn pot. This will maintain a robust fire.
The Auger timing is designed to be run, in most conditions, with the dampers closed.
In some areas/conditions, it mybe necessary to adjust the damper open slighty in order to slow down the flame and allow the pellets to keep pace with the rate of burn. This should be monitored closely to ensure you have the propoer feed rate established. If dampers are opened too much, the rate of burn will be very slow and the pellets will build up.
This setting needs to be fine tuned to according to your location and elevation. It is recommended that you start with the dampers pushed in to start.
