SOURCE: Stove burner igniter does not work.

Your problem is not the igniter itself, but the burner switch that controls the igniter. All the igniters get their power from one spark module that is mounted somewhere in back of the oven. That's why you are able to get all the igniters to spark with only one burner control turned on. This is normal. That is also why you are able to light the burner in question buy turning on another burner. The spark is being provided by a switch that is working. To answer your question: the igniter is removable, but I don't think it's necessary. Cleaning them generally doesn't make them work better. I would check the wiring from the spark module to the burner switch and/or replace the switch. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: ge spectra gas stove top not lighting

If your top burners are not lighting or will not work, it is possible that the burners have become dirty or wet. Please follow the troubleshooting directions below before calling service:

  1. Turn you burner to the Lite position:

If you hear clicking or sparking, go to Step 2.

If you do not, check your circuit breakers. If the circuit breaker is ok, we recommend that you schedule service by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule service online.

  2. Clean the burner and electrode:

First remove the burner grate, cap, and head. Use a needle or paper clip to poke through the holes on the burner head. Re-assemble and try the burner.

Remove the burner grate, cap, and head. Even if it looks clean, wipe the tip of the electrode with a clean, dry paper towel and PRESS IT DOWN. Re-assemble and try the burner, again.

Check to see if the burner works, If not, then go to Step 3.

  3. Re-assemble - Make sure that each burner top matches its burner bottom. The burner top will lay flat if put on correctly.

Check to see if the burner works, If not, then go to Step 4.

  4. The spark igniter is operating properly, but the burner is still not lighting. At this point, we would recommend that you schedule service by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule service online.

SOURCE: Gas Fireplace pilot light continually goes out

You may have a problem with the flame sensing capillary. It may need to be replaced, or it may need to be positioned into the pilot flame better, or you may need a new gas safety valve. Sometime there is an adjustment screw for the pilot which can make the flame bigger or smaller. If will be on the safety valve.

Fireplace front burner will not completely light

I suspect soot is clogging the jets. Use a high pressure air hose to blow out the burners (after disconnecting them) and a wire to poke the jets holes clear of debris.

Ignightor for heat n glo gas fireplace pilot light on but fireplace not lighting.

Get a jumper wire. On the gas valve jump the top and bottom screw, should be three. If it lights the burner, you have a switch problem.

Napoleon Fireplace propane Pilot won't light main burner even though gas flows in?

  • I'm going to assume your fireplace has a pilot light.
  • Follow the little holes in the burner that lead to the pilot light.
  • Make sure the pilot flame is pointing directly at the closest burner hole. (adjust if necessary).
  • Often, you will need to sprinkle a layer of "glowing embers" in this area. The embers will help the gas travel to the pilot light and ignite.
  • Always start your propane appliance on "High" never "Low". Cold propane likes to drop to the bottom of the firebox and accumulate until it reaches the pilot (this is called delayed ignition). Keeping it on "high" will help the fuel travel over to the pilot without buildup.

Gas fireplace lights up but only half the burner stays on after running for a few minutes

Do not operate this fireplace until problem is solved.

Could be low gas pressure, or dirty combustion parts, or bad gas control valve.
Contact gas company immediately for specialist in area.

If burner is dirty and clogged, then unburned, explosive gas can be going up the flueway. This is a dangerous condition that needs to be addressed before putting fireplace back into service.

Web-search your specific brand and model number, and include .pdf in search parameter for possible downloadable product manual.
Read product manual for advisories and maintenance and troubleshoot and warranty.

Ingiter will either fail to start burner or won't quit clicking on the 1% of the times it does start up the burner

Hi look for adjustments to the lighter and also there should be a sensor tat sees the fire , this sesor allows the main gas to turn on, but only if it feels the heat , kind of like a thermocouple , if you think about about any type problem like this: what is it not doing ? then think what could cause this >/? if you go about any repair this way there is nothing you can't fix unless you need a part !

My remote won't control the fireplace. Do you have to program it

Normally, it comes programed. Before trying to reprogram it ...First, be sure you have the leads from the black receiver box connected to the proper terminals on the control valve of your gas fireplace. Secondly, be sure ALL the batteries are installed properly (i.e. facing the right direction). Do you get a beep when you press the Mode button on the hand held remote? If you do, the problem is some where else.

If you gas fireplace has a rocker switch in the control compartment that was used to turn the burner on and off ... Is it a 2 position switch or a 3 position switch? If it's a 2 position switch, be sure it's in the ON position. If it's a 3 position switch, it should be in the middle position. Is the gas control valve knob turned from Pilot to the ON position? Is your Pilot Light burning? It has to be for the remote control to work.

To test the whether or not the remote is connected properly, push the slide switch on the front of the black receiver box to the ON position. If you pilot is burning and the control knob for the burner is in the ON position, the burner should then light. If it doesn't then I suspect the wiring from the black receiver box to the control valve is not connected to the proper terminals. Or a rocker switch is in the wrong position. If all this fails contact SkyTech Technical Service @ 888-672-8929.
