SOURCE: clunking noise
The clunking noise may be a broken weld on the drum. Every time it turns and passes through the guide wheel supports, it makes a thunk thunk noise. You will need to have a qualified LG technician diagnose the problem correctly but that's what it sounds like.

Maybe your problem is coming from the bushing shaft part. Mine was so used that it made a terrible and high pitched sound.
Try to look behind your machine, remove the part hidding the bushing shaft and check if everything is ok.
My bushing shaft was make of metal, and I replaced it with a teflon one. Everything is working fine right now.
Have a good day.
