SOURCE: i accidentally cut the wire on my sony mdr-D777 headset. how do i repair?
If you matched all the wire up in their original configuration then there is not much else to be done.you could try taping them individually so that none of the wires are touching. At this point I would invest in a new one, Perhaps blueooth ; )
SOURCE: I have searched the web
Even though you can use regular AAA batteries (that you would have to replace often), there is a huge convenience factor with using the charging cradle that comes with the Sony headset. A solution I found was that I ordered some 550 mAh AAA batteries through Ebay (they came from England and cost me $8 total for four batteries). To make them work (be able to be charged using the cradle) in the Sony headset you MUST use the bottom part of the plastic battery holder piece (all you need to do is peel off the BP-HP550-11 label and the bottom half of the plastic battery holder piece slips off of the Sony batteries). Then just slip in the new AAA batteries into the plastic battery holder bottom and then insert into the headset. The reason why you must use the bottom of the battery holder plastic piece is because the plastic piece pushes on a little switch. This switch activates the charging mechanism inside the headset to enable the cradle charger to charge the batteries. NOTE: I am not an electronics expert so I do not know if there would be any problem using other rechargeable AAA batteries (with higher mAh ratings). So I decided to be safe than sorry and ordered the 550 mAh batteries through Ebay.
SOURCE: Can I replace the ear
Hey--it was reassuring to see that I'm not the only one with this question. Lots of places (Staples, Radio Shack) have the right size replacements, but it takes a little more digging to be sure you can find something more than what looks like doughnut-shaped packing material. B&H Photo Audio does, and here's a link: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/582208-REG/Pearstone_8091000_Replacement_Earpads_Pair.html
SOURCE: MDR-NC6 Sony Noisecancelling headset
In the off chance someone (like me) was hoping to resurrect their set of MDR-NC6 headphones, I'm going to echo what slon_vitaliy discovered in his/her solution - the right speaker died. Unlike some of the other posters here who said they had no sound but they did have noise cancellation, I had neither. I disassembled the right cup and started testing the wire connections. All were fine. I finally narrowed it down to the speaker wires and then the speaker itself. Like slon_vitaliy, I ran a second spare speaker in parallel with it. The second speaker started playing music.
I also have no idea where to get a replacement speaker. Time to treat myself to some new headphones...
SOURCE: Hello! I have Sony MDR-RF800R wireless stereo hea...
Hello. I had the same problem with my MDR-RF800R and the solution mr. tiago_iz posted here worked successfully for me. Thank you!
Since many Sony headsets use the BP-HP550-11 battery pack, I assume your battery pack is the same. If not, I assume whatever battery pack your headset came with, it is some type of plastic holder that holds two batteries together.
