I have an LG UHD TV and I am trying to use it’s remote to control an LG DVD DV9723p player, but I keep getting “Connect USB-HDD Device” message on TV screen.
How can I use my LG TV remote to also operate the DVD player?
You need to connect your DVD player to your LG TV with HDMI cable.

It sounds as if the player is expecting that there should be a storage device (external hard drive = HDD device) attached to it, and there is not.

Assuming you have not shot your in-laws and are now reading this from a jail cell, if you hold down 'TV POWER' and press number '8' or '9' on the remote, you should get it working again. I've just got a new Sharp bells'n'whistles TV, and the remote doesn't work fot it at all. Bummer!!!

I have new Panasonic DVD & Combo units stacked on top of each other and had the same problem, until last resort I read the manual and and easily changed the frequency on the DVD unit and remote, you can have up to 3 Panasonic units with different frequencys close to each other.
