Blue and yellow, or cyan and yellow combine to make green. I suspect that the other colors needed for a particular document are empty, or the wrong colors were placed in some slots. I would be surprised if that printer would accept the wrong ink cartridge in a slot though.

SOURCE: HP 3210 black ink problem

I just posted my problem and found the solution on a different web page. It is this and it WORKS
All you have to do is HOLD DOWN FOUR BUTTONS AT THE SAME TIME: ( OK, Cancel, Black , Color ) and turn the power off. Do this at least twice and the unit will power up and go to maintenance. Then it was back to normal.
HP gives you a procedure that doesn't work! They just want to sell you a new one. They must know the solution if and old woman like me can figure it out with help from other people with the same problem

SOURCE: HP Photosmart 3210.

Look at "black ink problem" higher in these posts. 9 people offering solutions.

You may need to force the blockage out of the black ink feeder system.

This is a serious design fault which HP will not acknowledge.

Reset the product:

  1. Without turning off the product, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the product. NOTE: The USB cable connects to the port on the back of the product. The port is labeled with the USB icon (c01424575.gif ).
  2. Remove the cartridges from the product.
  3. Wait for the ' Insert Cartridges ' message to display on the control panel.
  4. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
  5. Wait 60 seconds.
  6. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button (c01602202.gif ).
  7. Reinsert the cartridges, and then close any open doors on the product.
  8. If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.
  9. Reconnect the USB cable to the rear of the product, and then try printing again.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

SOURCE: HP Photosmart 3210 Printer will not scan any

I had the same problem and this is what I did to fix it.

Go to control panel
choose printers
look to left and find scanners and cameras
click scanner
a pop up should direct you to scanning options and will lead your scanner to scan the item

hope this helps

It is only printing blue

My HP photosmart 3210 skips lines on the black ink only. The other colors print fine.

(The obvious) Replace the black cartridge. Even if ot says you have ink you could have a faulty cartridge, even if it has worked fine in the past. (The not so obvious) Clean your printheads/nozzles. Repeat the process a few times.

HP Photosmart 3210xi - some colors (magentas) will not print

Remove the magenta cartridge, and try cleaning the head with alcohol, maybe with a small paint brush or an acid brush. It sounds like ink has dried and plugged up that head.

I have a hp photosmart 3210 all-in-one and i cant figure out where the paper goes

For problems like this you can always refer to the manual. If you do not have the manual it can easily be found on HP's website under their support section.

The paper loads in a small tray in the front of the machine, underneath where the printed paper exits.

Have a photosmart 3210 all in one and i just want to print in black and it wont because a color cartridge is empty is there any way to bypass this

Remove the color cartridge, it will run on "Ink economy mode" or something like that. It WILL print from windows but the copier wouldn't work, displaying error. The copier needs both cartridges installed to work.

Hp 3210 photosmart Is it possible to print from black cartridge only,

It is possible. You will have to go into the properties of the printer you're using. Assuming you're using WinXP, go to Start>Printers and Faxes and right click your color printer. Choose Printing Preferences. Using my HP Photosmart C3100 as an example, I would next choose the Color tab and under Color Options, choose the radio button that says Print In Grayscale. That will do it.
