SOURCE: cannot connect to open wireless network Invalid IP Address

Either the network requires you to manually configure your ip settings(unusual but not unheard of) or your wireless adapter is not set to get settings from DHCP. Check to verify that your wireless adapter is set for DHCP and if this is correct then you'll need to contact the administrator for the wireless AP and haver them check their settings.

SOURCE: Cant access internet through wireless network.

if it flashes orange it is trying to connect and detect the internet, if you are connected to your wireless router but no internet check the security keys on the router and the laptop if they are the same, I guess you get the error limited connectivity, and if possible check for programs that could cause your wireless to not get the internet but get connected to the router, check for network magic uninstall the program from your system restart the computer try connecting again.

worst case that can happen is you can try uninstalling the wireless drivers and reinstalling it if the wireless devices gets an error during installation of the driver then you will need to replace your wireless card in your laptop, orange flashing in router meaning it does not detect internet from the modem ^_^

How to connect an iPhone to the Internet

Connecting your iPhone to the internet is an easy process. You just simply use any application on your iPhone which uses internet service.

Your iPhone can either use WiFi or Cellular for internet access.

- A WiFi network is simply a wireless network. You can find them at coffee shops, libraries or even at your house if you a router setup for wireless access.

- Cellular data networks allow Internet connectivity over the cellular network. Check your carrier's network coverage in your area for availability.

When you use an application on your iPhone that requires internet service it will either connect to the last WiFi network used, or if that network is not available it will list all available networks in range. You can simply tap on the network you wish to join and it will connect. If the network requires a password it will show a lock icon. If no Wifi networks are available your iPhone will connect over the cellular data network and fees may apply.

To see all the Wi-Fi networks in range, from the Home screen choose Settings > Wi-Fi. Tap a network to join it.

I hope this article was informative. You can check out more of my tech articles by clicking here then going to the Tips section.

How to connect to always automatically connect to your SSID

Ever turn on your computer and try to connect to the internet? Ever see all the many SSIDs in your neighborhood listed in your wireless radar or your "Windows Wireless Connection". Then you'd scroll down to double click on your SSID so that you can connect to the internet. Imagine doing this everytime you have to connect to the internet. Wouldn't that be annoying?

The Objective
The objective of this Tip/How-To is to have you turn on your computer and connect to the internet automatically via your SSID (Wireless Network Name). Hence, you wouldn't need to manually find your SSID everytime you need to connect to the internet.

6a6f420.jpg

Pre-requisites or Must haves for this Tip to work
  1. A computer with a wireless adapter
  2. A wireless router
  3. An active internet service
  4. This tip is designed for Windows XP. I will post one up for Windows Vista and Windows 7.
  5. This tip is designed to work with Wireless Networks (SSID) that do not have any passwords or encryption.

Active Tip Dictionary (throughout this TIP)
SSID
is the technical term for your broadcasted network name. This is basically what you will see listed in your WIRELESS NETWORK CONNECTIONS manager.

To make your computer connect automatically to the internet via your SSID, we will need to manually tell your computer to connect to your SSID and then we will need to save this setting so that your computer will automatically connect to your SSID everytime you turn on your computer.

Let's Begin.
Start your computer by turning it on.

Click on your Start Button.
14c207b.jpg

Move your mouse over to Control Panel and then left click on it.
ff339b2.jpg

Double click on the Network Connections icon.
8a673e8.jpg

Double click on Wireless Connection. Now in the picture above you see Wireless Connection 3 but on your screen you should see Wireless Connection.

moz-screenshot-1.png97e1e56.jpg

Now click on Properties.
5381832.jpg

Click on the Wireless Networks Tab.
b119bfe.jpg

Now scroll up and down under Preferred networks until you find your Wireless Network Name (SSID). For me, it's called linksys therefore I will select linksys.

Now click on Properties.
4c1fadb.jpg

Now click on the Connection tab.
52daf8c.jpg

Under Automatic connection, click to check "Connect when this network is in range". This will tell your computer to connect automatically to your Wireless Network Name (SSID).

Click OK to save this setting.

Click OK again to get out of the Properties window.

Click OK again to get out of the Wireless Connections window.

Then click Close to close out of the Wireless Connections window.

And there you have it, you have setup to automatically connect to your Wireless Network (SSID) everytime you turn on your computer.

Now restart your computer and give it a few seconds, and voila, you are automatically connecting to your Wireless Network (SSID). Now you can surf the internet. You can set this on all your computers at home that have a wireless card.

Remember to give me a good rating and vote for me. If you require further tips and tricks, feel free to contact me through the contact box. I will post up your tip.

RCA model#L32WD12- Hello, is this model Nexflex ready?

This TV is not internet ready (either wired or wireless). However, you can connect it to a set-top box (like the Logitech Revue or an internet-connected Blu-ray player that can access Netflix) using HDMI port. Alternatively, you can use the TV as a monitor for your computer (VGA) and watch your Netflix streaming video that way.

I hope this helps.

Cindy Wells
(note: the HDMI ports on the L32WD12 do seem to be capable of understanding content from a computer on that input.)

When I connect the USB for headset into system it messes up my internet wireless connection. when I take USB out my internet will work fine again

Hi,

The wireless transmitter for your headset is causing interference with your wireless network.

If you can move your wireless networking equipment away from the USB transmitter then this may lessen the problem.

Perhaps using a usb cable extender will allow you to move your USB transmitter away from your computer?

Hope this helps,

Chris

Snow on tv cant get bk to pic

Hi nelle_king my name is MikeHouston of DISH Network. There are a couple things we can do to get thatpicture back. What you will need to do is make sure the TV is on channel 3 orthe right input, and if the picture is still snowy and we are on the correctchannel/input you will need to reset the receiver by unplugging it for 10seconds and plugging it back in. After you plug it back in it will power up byitself and you should see the DISH Network screen. I will send the steps tohelp with the setup. b> # Sequentially follow the below steps until problem is resolved or until instructed to skip to another step 1 Verify HDMI Connections Verify HDMI cables are connected from the DISH receiver HDMI Out to the HDMI In of the Revue, and the HDMI Out of the Revue to the HDMI In of the TV. 2 Reset Revue and DISH Receiver Unplug both the Revue and DISH receiver for 10 seconds and plug back in. It may take up to 5 minutes for the reset process to be completed. 3 Check Receiver-to-TV Configuration Check that the wiring between your DISH receiver and your TV is configured properly using http://www.dish.com/wiring. 4 Secure Receiver-to-TV Connections Check that the connections between your DISH receiver, your TV, and any component(s) (VCR, DVD Player, etc.) in between are secure. 5 Bypass Revue Bypass the Revue and directly connect the DISH receiver to the TV using an HDMI cable.
