Hi David,
Here are some suggestions that could help your problem Samsung tv:
- There could be swollen capacitors on the power board. You can check this by opening the back of the TV and checking whether the capacitors have good shape integrity (round, not bulging, no leaking etc)
If you have basic electrical and soldiering skills this can be completed by you following online guides.
If not, I would recommend calling an appliance company such as 0800 Repair.

SOURCE: LCD TV won't turn on, Screen and Standby light blink

I had a similar problem which I have partially solved. The power light flashing could be due to a shorted electrolytic on the power supply board but in my case it was a shorted IC on the main board, the one with the input connectors. The IC marked 7001 shorted and got hot enough to melt the plastic. Replaced it with a new one from Mouser. The supply measured on the end of inductor 5001 farthest from the IC reads 12V now. This is a surface mount part and has a pad on the bottom that may be soldered to a pad under it. I had to cut the IC apart carefully with a Dremel cutoff wheel to remove it. That fixed the problem with the light and the remote now turns the TV on and off so the logic is working.

I now have the problem of the backlight not turning on. The driver board, the ones with the transformers, are made by Intechwave, the only info I can find is here: http://www.peopleworks.co.kr/kor/product/product_list.php?intDivision=4&intClass1=16&intClass2=41

This a 45kHz RF driver and it is not starting. If I can figure out why I'll post it for all the people who reported slow or no turn on of the backlight. These boards should have 24V between the red wires on the connectors and ground, as mine do.

Picture dimmed. can see the picture and in menu increased the backlight to max but did not go back to normal. checked eco settings and did factory reset. still very dim but can see the picture.

Yah kindly follow this tip. After loosing the back cover when the tv power cord is removed from power socket, check for bulged or defect power capacitors in both the primary & secondary side of the power pack if found any kindly replace it with the actual or equivalent value as this electrolytic capacitor defects is much common for Samsung power packs

I recently purchased a 47"

Your TV has a light sensor that changes the brightness of the TV based on room brightness.

It's called an "Intelligent Sensor"

You can turn this off in your "Picture" settings.

Congrats on such a nice TV purchase.

If this was helpful, please rank me a 4.

Power Brightness dims after using Kinoma Player

Ok i think i can help,

Step 1: Go to preferences
Step 2: Go to power
Step 3: Change the Auto-off after: feature and increase it to 3 minutes, the maximum.

I know this will only help it a lil from the 1 minute you had before, but if you pres the volume button or something within the 3 minutes it will restart the 3 minutes.
