1)remove plastic cover from bottom rear of tv
2)remove 8 philips head screws on rear of tv above base
3)pick up tv and base will come off
once you remove it you realize how easy it is

I think it is probably a metric bolt. Maybe a 10 or 12 MM. There aren't many if any consumer electronics manufactured in the US anymore, and most use metric screws and bolts. Check one of the bolts from that table stand to see what it is. That will tell you if it is metric or standard.
