RCA 40 TV model# LED40HG45RQ red light comes on but no picture

my kid was playing with the remote,f.s.on came on the screen.we turned the tv off and now it wont come back on.they say f.s. stands for feild service.how do i get the tv back on?

LG will sell you a new lamp. It may resolve the problem but just as likely it's the contacts where the lamp unit plugs to the TV. There's a few types of connectors. The early ones are dodgy and cause the problem you describe. A faulty lamp can also cause it though.

Most likely failed capacitors in the power supply. I am currently having the same problem with my 26 month old LN46A750. Samsung has agreed to fix this as an out of warranty "courtesy repair".
