SOURCE: 55 in Sony KDF55WF655 Goes to standby and red light blinks 4 times

Check the thermal sensor fuse part# 1-910-023-93 or possibly one of the four fans. If the unit goes into Fan/Thermal Protect shutdown (4 blinks) it can be difficult to determine the cause since the unit turns off too quickly to troubleshoot. Solution: Ground the data line by inserting a jumper between pins 3 and 6 of CN44 on the H4 board. This overrides the protection circuits for troubleshooting. Do this right after turning the unit on and as soon as the lamp is seen lighting. Check pins 2, 5, 8, and 11 of CN6000 on the G2 board for less than 1VDC. Any voltage higher than that indicates a faulty fan. If all voltages are within specs, the H4 board must be replaced. If a fan is found defective, the optical block will need to be replaced if it is located inside the assembly. H4 Board Part Number: A1054674A Replace the following part based on which pin of CN6000 is out of specs: Pin 2: Fan 1 (part of optical block) Pin 5: Fan 2 178723211 Pin 8: Fan 3 178706511 Pin 11: Fan 4 178708111 Optical block Part Number: A1084662A

SOURCE: KDS-R60XBR2 power led blinks 4 times,

There are three fans the one that usually fails is located on top of the optical block and cannot be reached by the owner unless you take the set apart yourself. What is happening is that one of the fans are not spinning fast enough or has stopped altogether. The best solution is to replace all three fans cleaning may not be enough to get a slow fan up to speed, and the tech should blow out the dust in the duct work. This is what the tech coming out will (or should) be doing. Also some fans will have an intermittent startup, and cause this intermittently, so it is a good idea just to replace the fans instead of just cleaning them.

I have a sony 55"

Hi,
3 times red standby light flashing indicates that lamp cover (first thing that you removed from tv to replace lamp) is not fixed properly on tv, make sure lamp cover is attached correctly with tv to solve this issue.
3 times blinking is not problem of fan or anything else, it is related to lamp cover that engages safety micro switch inside to turn On tv.
Thanks.

Kds55a2000 red light flashing

The SONY Owner's Manual for the KDS55A2000 does not state what the 4 times blinking Power LED means.

However, my Sony Extended Care Service support insists that the projection lamp is the cause for the 4X blinking LED
Power light.
I do not agree but am forced to buy a replacement lamp (not cheap) to prove that the problem is probably the fan, as the TV Technician states elsewhere in these FixYa support questions and answer
