Is the Crosman 140-70 exhaust valve cap rebuildable/can it be rerung successfully?

Gas will blow out the exhaust when there is a problem with the carburetor. Ports may get clogged up with deposits; the float may stick and or the diaphragm may have holes in it. Most often a rebuild kit will resolve this. First off alway remove the carburetor and clean it thoroughly and access whether anything appears to be obviously the culprit. Next, either rebuild or replace as you see fit. I recently have had many issues with carburetors. One took a good cleaning to resolve, another a replacement resolved the issue. Most often it comes down to replacement, I haven't had too much success with rebuilding them in automobiles but most often it seems to help with tractors. Tractors appear to have more success with rebuilds and cleanings. hope this helps

I would suggest checking the cylinder seal and the firing valve for the problem. Also when you take the cap back off check for cut o rings in the cap assembly.

what exactly do you mean by blown exh valve? all exh ports? theres a big problem with the head. check it out ASAP.

Power valve not working will affect performance. It won't hurt anything by not working, but it is there for a reason. Get it fixed.

I just rebuilt my 140 that I had as a child, Rick had all of the o-rings and pump cup to rebuild it back to new working condition.
