I have a Nikon coolpix B600 and I can't get it to video more than 2 minutes before it runs out of space. I have a 128mb SD card so it should hold a lot of video.

Your camera should be capable to record video for 30 minutes in a row. The SD card should be more than 4Gb to record 30 minutes. and not 128 Mb.
I think you have a 128 Gb card, if not the card is the problem. 128 mb is really not enough for 30 minutes. It would be just enough for one and a half minute.

SOURCE: Nikon coolpix 4600.

Hi I found this info on the Nikon Australia website:

"System Error" or "Lens Error" message in LCD monitor trnsp.gif Question My COOLPIX camera displays a "System Error" or "Lens Error" message. What should I do? trnsp.gif Answer Having a "System Error" or "Lens Error" message displayed on the camera's LCD monitor would generally indicate that your camera needs servicing. A System Error is a general error which can be caused by many things: lens problem, CF Card problem, general camera failure, etc. To troubleshoot, please try the following:

  1. Use the memory card that originally came with your camera (or a Nikon approved card).
  2. Remove and replace the battery.
On the other hand, a Lens Error generally means that an error has occured during the lens operation. To troubleshoot, please try the following:
  1. Turn off the camera.
  2. Remove and replace the battery.
  3. Turn on the camera.
If the above tips do not help, your camera must be sent to our Nikon Authorised Service Centres, there are no user serviceable parts in our Nikon COOLPIX cameras. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and we will do everything to repair your Nikon camera as quickly as possible. Click Here for our Nikon Authorised Service Centres details.

Seems you may just have to remove and replace the battery - sort of like a Windows Restart to fix a computer problem! - this would reset your camera's memory.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Nikon coolpix 5700 shows no memory left after purchasing a new card & batteries

The largest CompactFlash card that Nikon approved for the 5700 is 256MB, which is what I'm using in my 5700. That's small by today's standards and you probably won't even find it in stores. I see some web sellers have 256MB cards for only $6 or so. Other commercial card sellers on the web claim that the 5700 will handle CF cards up to 1GB capacity. That's what I might try since online they're selling for as little as $8 plus shipping. Given that the 5700 was introduced in 2002, any cards bigger than 1GB probably won't work.

SOURCE: Lost of space on micro SD card

Yes you can get your space back.
Let me clear you first you lost the space due to while system is writing data in your SD micro card it is suddenly ejected or disabled.

You will do this method to retrieve you data back. You will need some things
1. Card reader for SD micro memory.
2. A software called D M comes as Hard disk tool it comes in bootable cds.

You will remove your H D for safe side to protect your hard disk data.

Put your SD card in card reader and start you computer with bootable cd that contains D M software.

When your system is boot from cd run D M and go to option in D M erase all data. This will retrieve your all space from SD. Remember you can do the same thing with Hard disk if there is any bad sector or some space not avalible or disk partion is not able to delete by any softwares.

Hope this will help you, If you have any problem regards this you can reply to me other wise don't forget to make ansewer my thread.

Regards
nidostyle

Nikon Coolpix S2500 - How do you see how much memory is available after taking photo's

In the shooting and playback modes, if you're in still mode (not video) then in the lower right corner of the screen is a number in square brackets []. This number is a rough estimate of the number of additional pictures you can take before the card fills up. If the card can hold 10,000 or more additional pictures this number will be 9999. In video mode this displays an estimate of the number of additional minutes of video the card can hold.

Nikkon coolpix L1 After downloading memory card .. then putting back into camera. Reading says "cannot read memory card." Checked card out at store verified that it is good. Why does it not work in my...

A couple things you might try.. remove the card carefully and check the position of the "lock" tab. Make sure it is fully in the unlocked position - not locked or a point between the two positions. Reinsert and try again.

It sounds lie you're using a card reader to download the pictures - try formatting the card while in the card reader via computer. The card should be completely empty when the format is complete. You can even try copying files to and from the card to make sure its ok and format again. When complete, try again in camera.

If the problem persists, check to make sure the card is on Nikon approved memory card list for use with the Coolpix L1 (provided below):

The following is a list of approved memory cards for the Coolpix L1 digital still camera. These cards have been tested and approved for use with the Coolpix L1.
The L1 uses SD (Secure Digital) memory. Sandisk:
  • 64MB, 128 MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1 GB, 256MB*, 512MB*, 1GB*
Toshiba:
  • 64MB, 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1 GB, 128 MB*, 256MB*, 512MB
Panasonic:
  • 64MB, 128MB, 256MB, 1 GB, 256MB*, 512MB*, 1GB*
* - Cards rated for 10MB/s (high speed) Other cards have not been tested. For more details on the memory cards listed above, please contact the manufacturer.

The list came direct from Nikon Support. Other cards may work, but only those on the list are approved. Successful use of other cards can not be guaranteed.

I hope this helps!

The 5900 uses SD cards. The 4GB card you have is actually an SDHC card and will not work in the 5900. You'll have to stay with cards 2GB and smaller.
