I have a Gold Gym 430i and the calorie counter was working but I can't get it to work now. Everything else does, the timer, the speed, and the distance all are working.

Consider the console bad. If under warranty pursue a new console.

Consoles are very expensive to purchase outright.

I fit bit or other activity tracker may be more accurate.

SOURCE: How accurate are the calorie counters on treadmills and cardio equipment?

Here's what the Sole exercise equipment makers say about calorie counters on exercise equipment. it's from their E-95 users manual: "Calorie readings on every piece of exercise equipment, whether it is in a gym or at home, are not accurate and tend to vary widely. They are meant only as a guide to monitor your progress from workout to workout. The only way to measure your calorie burn accurately is in a clinical setting connected to a host of machines. This is because every person is different and burns calories at a different rate. Some good news is that you will continue to burn calories at an accelerated rate for at least an hour after you have finished exercising!"

SOURCE: how do you calibrate a york treadmill?

yes you must read the instruction manual for software calibration.
or open the hood motor, and read the instruction attached.
or you must call to York supply for customer service and ask them where is located in case that you will not find them.

God bless you

Body Trac Glider stuck on "stop"

I just got and built this rower today and I had the same issue. I noticed that the wire that is coming out of the frame, near where you make the first connection when building it, was half cut. The connection is made up of two wires, one has a white stripe on it. The white stripe one was cut, it probably got squashed from the frame when I was building it. I simply separated the two wires at the cut point (they are connected by the rubber surrounding them like headphones) and stripped either end of the white striped wire that was cut. I then twisted the wire together and taped it together with electrical tape and it worked! I was going to solder the wires together, but it worked with out it so I didn't. I think the white wire works the counters and the solid black one just tells it to turn on.

My Garmin 305 wont record calories when I'm in the Gym. I select the "Other" sport mode, the little guy skiing, and It doesn't recored or even register calories? It records during my Jog sessions while...

The 305 uses distance to calculate calories. They sell a "foot pod" that you can use indoors, and that will count your calories by calculating the distance you have traveled. The problem however, is that using distance to calculate calories is so inaccurate! The calorie count that the 305 provides is almost always WAY too high. Other heart rate monitors use heart rate to calculate calories burned, and it is a much more accurate measure. My garmin thinks i burned 700 calories an hour today while i was snowboarding, and, while that would be nice, there is NO way it's true!!
