Hoping for someone to help me out on my Thermador Range Hood. The model number is PH36GS. I started having intermittent issues where the lights and the fan would not come on sometimes and then sometimes it would. Fast forward now nothing comes on and I have no green LED that stays on on the control module. I replaced the control module and nothing. So I figured it was the power module and sent the control module back. Bought a new power module and put it in with old control module and nothing. No lights. Nothing. Is there a chance that both the control module and the power module were bad? If I have no green light on for the off button what does that mean? I am struggling here and could use some help. Thanks in advance.

Either the new power supply you purchased is not functioning correctly. But, assuming it is now that you are getting some form of power to your PC, it is very likely the motherboard. Whatever fried your old power supply (or it could have just been the power supply itself) most likely fried your motherboard in the process. Probably not the CPU since the MB can't even post.

SOURCE: Light doesn't work on Kenmore Model 55022 Range hood...

If you have 120VAC on the center contact of the light socket, and a working fan, but the bulb won't light...the most likely cause would be a disconnected neutral wire (white) in the light wiring inside the hood....assuming everything else is wired correctly.

If you're comfortable with further electrical testing...let me know, and I can describe a detailed procedure to check the status of the neutral wire. Otherwise, you may need the assistance of someone familiar with electrical troubleshooting or appliance repair.

If you're getting 120V at the lampholders, yet it's not lighting lamps that still work perfectly well in other fittings, two possibilitiesspring to mind.

One is that the cap on the bulbs isn't quite compatible with the fitting. Assuming they're some variant of Edison Screw, make sure that the centre terminal in the lampholder is sticking out far enough to touch the terminal on the bulb. Also check whether the lampholder achieves it's outer connection just with a small tab, rather than with the whole of the threaded ring. If so, make sure that this is going to touch the appropriate part of the bulb.

The other possibility is that you've got a high resistance connection somewhere - not enough of an open circuit to drop the 120 V when feeding the Megohm load presented by a meter, but more than enough to kill the supply when you have a lamp load. Only way to chase this is to use the meter on ohms range to bell out all the wiring between the lampholders and bits of the system which do work properly.

Hood has a remote blower (VTR1400Q). Only working on MED and HIGH setting.

See if it has a blower motor resistor(controls speeds) and replace it.
Look up model at repairclinic.com & see it the resistor is a listed part. See link, go to repair help by model number. Forget it. I just checked the only part they sell is the motor for $267. You can buy a new hood for that.

Try Reliable Parts Co. at 1800-666-0313. You will probably also need your model number off of the unit.

Thermador downdraft does not stop going up and going down automatically

I had a similar issue with the Thermador CVS30R hood continually going up and down, and also issues with the fan starting.
The issue was found to be a loose control arm off the motor. The arm itself moved outward on the motor shaft which resulted in it missing the switches that control the hood up/down and fan start.
This was a somewhat simple fix. Make sure the hood is in the down position. Unplug the unit from power(important!). Unscrew the screw that connects the drive arm to the drive link. Unscrew the motor/control cover, then unscrew the 4 screws holding the complete motor/control unit on (2 Phillips-head screw on each end of the assembly). Pull the complete motor/control assembly out, be careful of wiring. Once out, push the drive arm on firmly onto the motor assembly and tighten the screw. When doing so make sure the 2 micro switch arms are not caught and are free to switch.
When placing the unit back in, ensure all wiring is clear from being caught and ground is reconnected. Put it all back together and done!
