I wired it incorrectly at first (didn't follow the diagram) and it would beep and flash 2-3 times but wouldn't move at all. I wired it correctly according to the diagram and now it won't do anything (no light/beeping/etc). I also noticed that on the charger it will light up that it is charging when the batteries are incorrectly wired but when we have them wired correctly the charging light does not turn on. any ideas on what we can try to fix this issue?

The date may be off by 12 hours. This would cause it to change at noon, and not change at midnight.
Try forwarding the time or reversing the time 12 hours in the correct direction.
SOURCE: have jazzy select series need to know flashing Code #9
Consult your owners manual for the flash code guide. I believe that you probably have a PG Drives Joysitck/Controller, in which case a 9 code would indicate problem with the brake system. Check the free-wheel levers by placing them in the neutral position, and then firmly placing them back in drive. Try to restart. If still flashing, you need to remove the seat and the shroud and examine the connections inside the base of the chair. The brakes are at the end of the motor, and there are thin wires coming from them back to the controller box. Inspect these wires for any damage, and follow them back to make sure any connections on the way are tight, and that the connections for all clip connections are tight.
The brake is electrically operated by a solenoid. If the solenoid has gone bad, then this will also cause a fault code. Contact your dealer for servicing this part. Good Luck.

It could be that the acceleration is set to low. This setting adjusts the time it takes for the chair to reach maximum speed that you have selected on the joystick. With a low setting, it takes it a few seconds to get to maximum. Reprogramming the acceleration to a higher setting decreases the amount of time for the chair to hit max speed. You will need a PP1 handheld programmer from P&G drives technology to change the settings, or take it to a local DME specialist who will usually have a programmer to reset the joystick.
SOURCE: Just bought sed Jazzy Select for my wife. Chair
Yep you have a weak or bad battery. Even tho the chair looks new if they didn't take care of the batteries ie: charge regularly then the batteries went bad just sitting. I would check in your area for a battery warehouse or store that can get you 2 new batteries at a reasonable price. If there is an Interstate battery distributor or store near you the get your batteries there. Your Select uses 2 U1 batteries. Check out my tips on charging your batteries once you have the new ones put in. Hope this helps
SOURCE: how long does it take
Mike it depends on the charger and how discharged the batteries are. But if you get into the habit of charging it overnite when you get up in the morning it should be good to go. A 3 amp charger will take longer to charge than a 4 amp or 5 amp. Now if you are charging overnite and still don't get a full charge then you could have battery problems ie one weak battery causing the chair not to get fully charged or it could be the charger but if the charger has been doing ok in the recent past then I would have to suspect the batteries Hope this helps
