Kohler single handle kitchen faucet turns itself off when turned on to a low volume. The weight of the handle seems to be too heavy and makes it drop down. I see no where to adjust the tension.

SOURCE: low pressure and flow on hot water side of single handle faucet

It could be one of two problems, one simple, one serious.

  • Easy fix
  1. Turn off hot water angle stop under sink to faucet.
  2. Remove supply line from hot angle stop.
  3. Place end of supply line in a small bucket to catch some water.
  4. Turn on cold water for a couple of seconds and backflush debris from faucet.
  5. Reconnect supply line.
  6. Turn on angle stop and test
  • Complex fix
If you have steel pipes you may be experiencing reduced flow due to corrosion in your pipes. Reduced hot water pressure in the kitchen faucet is usually the first sign since this is the faucet that is most used in the home.

Repiping is a job for a professional. Another symptom you may need a repipe is orange colored or rusty water.

SOURCE: Low flow from Kohler K15160 spray kitchen sink

Are you sure the spray handle is allowing the valve to open enough to allow enough water through? The problem it seems like is physical or mechanical. I am assuming you get good water flow through the faucet itself.

SOURCE: price pfister faucet handle drops and turns off.

Re the 'falling handle' issue, I think you misunderstood the problem, jgwhomeequip. Unfortunately for me I bought *two* similar Price Pfister faucets and both had the same problem - the water wouldn't stay on and the handle just wouldn't stay up.
I took mine apart looking for something to adjust, fruitlessly. Put it back together and have lived with it like that for ~2 years.

Finally I decided to not be a knucklehead any longer and call the manufacturer. Once I got through to their rep (on a Saturday no less!) she helped me identify the model I had (a 533-50SS, just FYI), and asked me 'what finish'? I replied 'stainless steel' and she promptly replied, 'I'm going to mail you out new lighter handles to replace the ones you have'.

Brilliant! Gold star for PP for standing behind their product well past the warranty for what was apparently a common problem. Replacing the handle will take about 10 seconds per faucet.

I only wish I had got of my a$$ and called them 2 years ago.

How do you remove the lever of a kitchen kohler clairette faucet, it seems to be stuck

On the front of the faucet handle, there is a small plastic cover with an emblem on it. Gently pry it off with a sharp knife blade. Next you will notice a small "allen" screw head. Remove it by turning it counter clockwise until it's loose. (lefty loosie - righty tighty) Lift the handle straight up to remove.

Kohler Fairfax kitchen faucet has low flow pressure. Any suggestions? It's the faucet, not the water getting to the faucet that has the low pressure.

First thing to check is if it has a strainer on the spout that has debris. The second thing is if you have a sprayer attachment the diverter valve is a chronic problem with kitchen faucets.

How does the cartridge come out of the Kohler K 14030 single handle faucet?

Turn the water off to your Kohler K-14030 faucet under the sink. Open the the faucet to make sure the water is completely shut off. Remove the small setscrew cover from the backside of the faucet handle. You should be able to remove it by hand. Insert an 1/8-inch hex wrench in through the opening and into the setscrew. Rotate the setscrew counterclockwise three full turns; you do not need to remove it. Lift the handle off the faucet. Unscrew the bonnet nut, or cover, from on top of the cartridge retaining nut; counterclockwise until removed. This nut should be remove by hand as well. Use a large adjustable wrench to unscrew the cartridge-retaining nut counterclockwise until removed. Grasp the cartridge stem with pliers and lift it out of the faucet body. You may need to gently rock it back and forth until the suction from the seal ring releases.

Loss of pressure in kitchen faucet - Price Pfister

Your problem is a simple one.

  1. Turn off water to faucet.
  2. Place a towel(s) in the base of the sink(s) to prevent any parts from going down drain.
  3. Remove the handle to the faucet. (single handle only)
  4. If not a single handle then remove spout from faucet.
  5. If a single handle remove cap carefully and any loose parts.
  6. Gently turn spout side to side while lifting to remove.
  7. You will see a hole with a very small valve where the water comes out to the spout on the base of the faucet.

  1. Remove this valve (which is a backflow preventer) and replace.
  2. Reassemble and test.
Problem solved.
