Frigidaire Counter depth fridge is making loud popping/thumping noise. I bought this thing a month ago. Water line has never been hooked up and the ice maker is turned off. The noise is loud enough to hear in different rooms. Any ideas?

SOURCE: kenmore fridge ice maker not working

only two things this could be, either your water valve is bad or your icemaker is bad. you can get a kit which comes with both for a little over a hundred bucks, and you can change them yourself.

SOURCE: Ice maker not making ice after replacing water line.

Ice makers are a common problem. On many brands there is a reset button behind the plastic cover. However if you physically see Ice clogging your water inlet to the ice maker, this will without a doubt prevent the ice maker from making ice. Use hot water or a steamer to unclog the ice or you can leave the unit unplugged for a few hours to defrost the freezer. You should be able to hear when the ice maker cycles and lets in water. Note: if you're getting plenty of water out of your in door water dispenser, then it's NOT a water supply problem. You may need to check the solenoid that controls water entering the ice maker.

SOURCE: GE Fridge Not Dispensing water

First place to start is in the fridge. Look behind the crisper drawers for the water tank. It may have frozen at the outlet line. Try thawing it out with a hair dryer or a heat gun, being careful of course not to melt anything.

Our refrigerator does a very loud buzzing for 5 seconds 3 or 4 times a day what is the problem its only 3 months old and very annoying

Normally as loud buzzing from the fridge on that frequency it just the icemaker cycling, the water inlet solenoid valve often makes a buzzing noise depending upon water pressure. Other than the noise, there is nothing to worry about.

Just purchased a fridgidare Gallery Series counter depth side by side fridge. was delivered today - water line hooked up. as soon as we turned on the water and pressed the dispenser water was pouring out...

Check water line just below the freezer door. This is where there is an water-line hook up that may not be connected.

My electrolux Icon side by side counter depth fridge is making a knocking noise in the ice maker region. All aspects function perfectly, but the noise is getting increasingly loud.

SO I have/had this problem. The knocking started almost 3 months ago when I got it. IT got to the point where the ice make will not work.
Just had the repairman out. He started out clueless but over the course of an hour he had the factory on the line, and got it resolved, I was watching over his shoulder.

The ice mold is on a cam. It drops down and around to the right to fill with water, and then back up into the center to freeze the water. HE got a kick out of how it worked, it is kind of cute.

When its going to the right to fill, there is a plate in the back right hand side that covers the copper freon line, it protrudes into the path of the ice mold. As ice/frost build up it bends it more to the point it will prevent the mold from swinging into the position to get water. Thats what happened to me.

There is a kit to fix. He did a temp fix:
1) With the Ice tray out.
2)Remove 2 screws on the front lower part of the ice maker and slide cover off.
3)On the right side 2 freon lines come into the ice maker there is a piece of plastic, maybe 2-3 inches square, with a slight offset to it. That's the problem piece. Remove it, and bend it a touch so it pulls it out of the path of the mold.
4) Reassemble.

WHen my kit comes, I'll just re-install it myself.

Ice keeps building up in bottom of freezer and on vent inside fridge and now fridge won't stay cold.

Clean the coil inside the rear access panel behind the unit with a spray air duster and check for this problem.

I just opened up the back of my Frigidaire Side by Side counter depth to find the drain hose was bent and collapsed coming right out of the bottom of the freezer and the pan was dry as a bone. It doesn't look like my drain hose has ever drained a drop of water. The freezer bottom is full of ice And the rust and chipping paint under the bottom of the freezer door along with the mysterious puddles of water every morning means the drain system definetely never worked. Frigidaire should be responsible for this. This, along with the ice maker rebuild I had to do,... after ice was spilling all through the fridge. I actually had warrantty left on that one and called customer support in India to find out I could make the repair myself. Yep I had to do it. Frigidaire you failed.

I've had my samsung bottom freezer counter depth fridge for just over a year and in the last 5 to 6 months it's started to periodically make a very loud humming noise. Should I be concerned that there is...

The freezer compartment fan may have Icing or the motor is going.....Remove the trays and remove the rear cover. The fan and Freezer evaporator are behind that cover.
The fan doesn't run all the time.

If you have an ice maker it too can make buzzing sounds. Just turn off the Ice maker to eliminate it as a source.

Frozen water tube that goes into the icemaker

Try using an hairdryer or defrosting the unit completely , this often get rid of blockage caused by frozen lines fixing the problem.

The water lines can also be unblocked from dirt using a thin flexible shaft. This after defrosting.

If all that does not fix the problem, then you may need to replace the water valve, the icemaker solenoid, or the whole icemaker assembly.
