Looks like we have 2 capacitors in our ceiling fan. Can we just remove these capacitors and direct wire?? One has two wires , black and red. The other has 4 wires, green-brown- 2 gray.

I need the wiring instructions for a 5 wire capacitor for a hunter ceiling fan with no lite.

These fans are manufactured by a number of overseas companies and sold exclusively by Home Depot. They do not have a standard color code for the fan switch. What you can do is turn off the power, keep the white neutral connected. Then using the black power wire fro the ceiling, take one of the switch wires and connect to that black, turn the power on and observe the speed .. low mark it 1, medium mark it 2, high mark it 3. Repeat untill you have identified all the speed wires. Then connect these wires to the 1,2,3, terminations of your new switch

Check wiring @ ceiling. Should b a black, white, green & red wire coming frm fan. Green is ground. Black & Red is power. White is neutral. Black provides power to fan, red provides lat power 4 lights. Remove light assembly, blue wire provides power. B sure 2 turn off power 2 fan b 4 working on it w/switch & breaker. Maybe lose wire connection or pinched wire grounding out. Fans require vibration proof bulbs regular bulb elements will break after short time use. Fan bulbs have larger filiments inside bulb.

White is the common, or neutral. There should be a white wire to connect it to.

Some fans will not operate without the remote, however, I'm not sure if the Hampton Bay brand is one of these or not. Below is how you will bypass the remote if the fan will operate without the remote.

You can try disconnecting the receiver in the canopy of the van (the cover that fits snug to the ceiling) once you have shut off the power source remove the canopy and find the remote receiver.

Most likely it will be a rectangular box with white, black, and blue or red wires attached. Disconnect all wires from the receiver and lay it to the side.

Now reconnect the wires directly to the fan, white to white, black to black, if you have a red wire (or a second black wire) in the ceiling box connect it to the blue wire from the fan.

If you do not have a red wire (or second black wire) in the ceiling box, connect the black and blue wire from the fan to the single black wire in the ceiling box. This method will require you to pull the chain to operate the fan separately.

you may have two dedicated ceiling fan circuits coming out of that box, check to make sure theres not a black wire bunched up in the ceiling or cut off, or try this

1.white to white wires, and black wire and black with a white stripe to red wire out of ceiling for fan and light together operation

2. If you can find the black and the red and the white coming out of the ceiling then you may have two switches on the wall for that fan, red for black fan wire, black with white stripe for the to black out of the ceiling , white all together. try that combination
for separate light and fan control from the wall

The pull switch has 4 wires, L, 1, 2, 3.
Connect ' L' to the reverse switch red wire or the wire that is free.
Connect ' 3 ' to the main black ( hot ) wire entering the fan.
Connect ' 1 ' to the capacitor's lowest uF eg. ( 1.5 uF )
Connect ' 2 ' to the capacitor's next uF eg. ( 3 uF )
the Capaciotr also has to be connected to the neutral wire entering the fan, usually black attached to another color wire. If you have a VOM tester, veryfy that it is a neutral wire.

copper to green , white to white , seperate the black and the black with th white tracer you wired together connect the black to the black and the black with white tracer to the red in ceiling , without looking this is my best advise ,good lk
