You have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo)
and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.
Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I
made) that demonstrates how it's done.

You may consider using epoxy to "glue" the handle back into place. The epoxy will be stronger than the handle itself. If you do this get the one minute epoxy

You might have set the child lock. Look in the manual. It is on P.36 in my manual.

Actually, these have a 10-year warranty on the magnetron and on the halogen speedcook lamps.
GE will
even send you the magnetron to replace it yourself. Call them at 888-239-6832.
The full service manual with installation instructions is here.
Part ordering help (if you need other parts) is here.
I'd recommend that your bookmark this link to your favorites.
If
you or someone you know want to replace the magnetron yourself, you will need to remove the oven from the wall.
If
so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have
two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward. Thewy are in the service manual.
You can also download GE
owner's manuals and installation instructions here.
If you prefer to replace it though, I would suggest doing Google searches to try to find 240V microwave ovens. They're the exception.
