SOURCE: Polaroid LCD TV Symptom dead

The ware to buy information will be hard to come by hence that manufacture for this product does not use a part number on every single part when servicing the unit. Thus I can recommend where to take it and whom to call for more information since this is a unit that i personally do not repair for my clients anymore due to the aftermarket of their parts and how expensive it is getting them ETC. Here is one solution find someone on Ebay.com that is saling this TV dirt cheap and take the parts from it at your own risk! or you can go the manufacture route by calling this number 1-866-289-5168
I know you came here looking for part numbers and more help then this we understand as experts but to tell you to do something that can harm you or go beyond our scope to get these part numbers, because the part in this unit don't go by that would not help you and us and the cost of the assistance would thus go up surpassing the $9.99. I only can diagnose and check on a solution based on your problem, Yes Fixya does have solutions that do Fix but in the case we can only recommend and I would encourage you to rate my assistance based only on recommendations to solve a solution only,

Thank You

SOURCE: Computer will not turn on. Possible power surge.

If the power supply is good then your motherboard must have gone bad during a surge.

UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY

UPS – UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY
Uninterruptible power supplies provide protection against mains power faults to computer equipment.
These faults include voltage spikes/interference, over voltage and under voltage, mains supply interruptions and surge protection etc.
These faults can cause computer and electronic equipment that are connected to an unprotected mains supply to malfunction and/or sometimes fail.
A common problem, when burning Cds, DVDs etc. any slight power interruptions to the burning process will halt the recording process and rendered the disc useless.

There two type of Uninterruptible Power Supplies
The lower powered and cheaper type UPS are switch-over types, when the mains supply fails, the UPS switches over to the batteries and inverter in milli-seconds which then supplies mains power to the computer and peripherals. A faulty inverter circuit and or flat batteries won’t deliver standby power when the mains supply fails.
NOTE : The mains waveform from these UPS is a pseudo sine wave (i.e. not a true sine wave).
The true UPS types are usually the higher KVA units (over 1500 VA) that supply continuous mains power. The mains power is connected to a charger which charges the batteries and then the inverter draws power from these batteries and converts it to true sine wave mains power to the computer equipment, therefore there is no switch over time lag when the mains supply fails.

I have installed su-kam Invertor 5KV/48v but it seems it has time delay when the main power goes off. Is there a UPS mode switch on it?

so you post inverters to computers, why? is this a UPS, I have one, in fact serviced 100s of them and models.
time delay,? elaborate that fully, and more clearly.

my wild guess is you meant if AC power in the hood fails
the load on UPS goes dead, with it.
that means the inverter failed, and that means 99% of the time the battery is no good.
lost the manual on your UPS that it? or the service manual.
there are 2 classes of UPS, full time and part time
on part time it must switch over fast , in say blink of eye fast. 0.01 sec.
on full time inverter runs FULL time and no switch delay at all.
Sine wave USP is very good,.
the batteries can fail in 1year to 5 years.
less if overloaded, and power lost vast time, (mains)
do you know how to load test any AGM battery, using a load tester.
all USP techs do, for sure any shop that lists those as supported
why ask fixya how to fix UPS< and then get in to danger.
the voltages in side are huge, and if you short the battery out boom flying red hot metal to face or acid blowing out of cracks on a battery, SAFETY FIRST DUDE,

What is main purpose for a surge arrester?

A surge arrester is a device that an appliance plugs into. The main job it has to perform is stopping any large voltage spikes from entering the device that it protects. For example your computer is plugged into a surge protector. A thunderstorm comes along and hits close enough to the power line to cause the normal power to jump 100 percent. The surge arrestor will dump that voltage and protect the computer if it a good brand and the voltage is high enough to be seen and caught. You will need to replace the surge arrestor if it does its job one time.

I have a sukam falcon 1.4kva inverter I just got it back from the service station. It was tested ok. On getting home and connecting to my main (with the inverter off) all the lights came on and there was...

A quick look through the specs suggest the manufacturer believes the unit is bullet proof, lightning proof and foolproof so I guess the unit is still faulty.

I suggest you read the instruction manual again just to be certain...

NO POWER WHEN PLUGGLED IN

Battery charger is probably of the intelligent type containing sophisticated circuitry which is very vulnerable to being damaged or weakened by excessive heat, voltage surges and transients. Such chargers should really be used with additional surge protection.

When such a charger fails to work there is little an owner can do other than check the supply and the fuses and connectors, both on the charger and on the golf cart. If everything that can be tested is ok it is the task for an engineer to carry out repairs.

Power supply malfunctioning

Most surge protection power boards will protect computer equipment from mains spikes and surges.
A better and more expensive solution is to use an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). These units provide surge and spike protection and also provide power in the event of mains power failure.
Make sure you select an UPS model that meet the power requirements of all your computer equipment that is connected to the UPS with a mains down time of say 1/2 hour to give you time to shut down your computer in an orderly manner.
