SOURCE: Battery door broken

You're making it harder than it has to be. Simply hold the camera in your left hand, and open the battery door so it is standing up. Look closely at the lower left corner of the batterry door. Notice the notch shape. The door plastic door is locked in place by the mating little "L" shape on the hinged door of your camera. Thats all that keeps it from sliding off when you put in batteries. Simply insert a small screwdriver or knife blade in that slot, twist it counterclockwise to push the battery door lock to the left, and slide the door off with no force at all. It's a snap.

SOURCE: Dimage Z1 ... replacing battery door

no idea where you 'normally' buy a door, but I happen to have one for sale, as the guy for whom I removed it decided it WAS too much trouble to follow my instructions.

it's actually pretty easy, requires only a good jeweler's phillips screwdriver and follow the instructions. I did spend a bit of time digging to figure out how to do it, and I was being extra careful as I didn't want to break anything. That done, I wrote the instrs to save you the trouble of figuring it out. lots of verbiage, actually pretty simple.

SOURCE: sentry s3877 battery compartment broke

I had the same problem with my Sentry S3877. I found the exact 4-battery replacement (with snap attachment on top!) at an online electronics.retailer, but had to purchase a lot of three. I don't need the other two, so I'll sell them for just $6 each to the first two folks to contact me [email protected].

Oh, by the way, once the batteries went dead, you lost your combination! When you pop the new battery compartment in, the factory default combination will be in effect. That default combination is in your user's manual. I'm currently searching frantically for mine! Gee, how could I have misplaced it ... I just had it in my hands when I purchased the safe 10 years ago !!!

Anyone know the default combo for the S3877?

SOURCE: Battery door latch broke off body of Canan A590

The same thing happened to me this week. I called Canon Canada directly and asked to order the part (The battery compartment door). They gave me a phone number to call and I was able to order the replacement door for about $8.00 + $10-$12 shipping. Hope this helps!

Have trouble programming. When I reset control the doors opens but when I close door, it stops and reverses, then the light blinks 10 times.

safety sensors are not aligned, or one of the wires to one of the sensors is broken or unattached, or sensor wires to the unit are broken or unattached. door will always open without sensors being correct, but will not close. try pushing and holding wall button and see if door will close, if yes, then it is the sensor wiring or sensors

Lazermark won't self level

There are 2 leveling systems in the lasermark lasers. The original was belt driven. The belts are rubber O rings, and break down over time. take the bottom off the laser and you can replace broken belts. It's a simply yet elegant system.
The newer ones use leveling cams. A tear drop shaped wheel on a motor, that raises and lowers one end of an axis to tilt the laser. The problem is because they have a hook at one end, they put a magnet in the cam to tell the laser when to stop turning the cam. If however, it reaches the limit, and then gets bumped it'll get the leveling axis stuck in the hook of the cam, and because the magnet is there, it will never relevel. What you have to do is, disassemble the laser, unplug the leveling motors and pull the wires for the magnet sensor out of the stuck axis. then swap the sensor from the other sensor in (as it wont level without reading the sensor) and then turn the unit on. It should be able to level at that point. The put all the wires back where they go, and you're on your way.

Lasermart LM30 wont spin and all lights blinking

My LM30 worked OK for a while, then the zig-zag chalk line feature stopped working, and finally it would not spin for more than a second for either rotate setting, and got the flashing lights thing. Of course tried replacing batteries to no avail. So the meticulous experimenter in me started on a mission to find out why it stopped working.

If my findings are the only reason this unit gives this error, the company should be ashamed of itself charging so much for such a simple repair.

Check these two things if you get the no spin/flashing lights problem.

Test one: Gently holding the rotating head, lift up a bit. If there is a little up/down movement when you lift on it, go to test two.
Test two: Holding the unit upside down, try running through the functions. If all functions work, the repair is easy and inexpensive/free.

The problem is there needs to be no axial shaft slop for the unit to work, and that slop is removed with a thin wave washer under the spinning head. That washer get's weak over time, and I think there is a sensor on the board that makes sure the drive pulley doesn't drop too far down, which triggers the shutdown.

Tools needed:
Phillips screwdriver
Small phillips screwdriver
1.5mm allen key
Retaining ring pliers

The fix:
1) Remove batteries and the screws from the top of the spinning head, and remove the cover.
2) Remove three screws from the bottom of the LM30 holding the yellow case on.
3) Carefully lift off the case. The control board has a slide pin connection to join it to the rest of the internals. It has a slight resistance to being removed, but if you feel a higher resistance, the control board is probably snagging on the drive motor inside. Squeezing the case sides gives you a little more clearance. Take your time getting it off.
4) Remove a 1.5mm allen head jam screw from the prism head, and carefully slide the prism off the shaft (gently prying up with a screwdriver)
5) With retaining ring pliers, remove the retaining ring.
6) Remove the wave washer. You can find a replacement or simply bend the existing one to make it a bit "wavier". Don't go crazy, just bend it slightly more than it is.
7) Support the shaft with a screwdriver inserted under the drive pulley
8) Replace the wave washer on the shaft.
9) Replace the retaining ring
10) Temporarily remove screwdriver to check that there is no up/down slop in shaft. If there is, you need to bend the washer a little more.
11) Reinsert screwdriver for support.
12) Carefully replace prism and reinstall the allen screw
13) Remove screwdriver providing shaft support
14) Carefully replace yellow cover, assuring slide connectors line up on the control board, and replace three screws
15) Replace prism cap and screws.
16) Replace batteries and test functions.

I need a manual. Power will not come on. Changed batteries. No power. Also, where does the red attachment that tells you to go up or down hook on? I have power to the unit which hooks to the pole.

Hi Richard.
The manual is available from this webpage.

http://www.cstberger.co.uk/uk/en/

Type lm30 into the text box which says "trade name/tool number" and click "start search"
Click on the thumbnail then to download the pdf.
Check for corrosion on the battery terminals and those in the laser.
From what I can see in the manual, there should be a clamp for the laser receiver that lets you clamp it to a staff.
The target plate (part 24 in the manual) has a reflective coating and there should be a magnetic holder for it.
