Windows Movies Maker can only accept video files in format AVI, WMV, MPEG, etc. So if you wanna run ur .MOV file on it, you need to convert MOV to Windows Movies Maker friendly format. I recommed you Daniusoft video converter which i all through use to convert various video to Windows Movies Maker...It's cool .

It's free but only works for converting .mov files but that's what you asked for so. :)

Use it to convert the .mov-file to a wmv.-file istead and it will work in moviemaker after that.

Or...

Tryu updating your moviemaker. The new Windows LIVE Moviemaker are supposed to work with .mov-files. Only for Windows Vista and Windows 7 but you seem to be running Windows Vista.
