Hooking up a dvd player to my durabrand tv

    I have an older sanyo tv and I can't get any dvd player to work. I have no remote for the tv. There is no video button on the tv itself, i just put to channel 3 and hook in the video and audio cords and it won't work.

    I have a westinghouse tv/dvd combo which the dvd part is not working. I just bought a magnovox dvd player to use with it, but I can not get it to work.

If it is a durabrand dwt1304, you cannot switch the input to EXTERNAL (the front jacks) without a remote. There is a good one at Radio Shack for eight bucks, the 3-in-1 remote. The program code is 0171, and you switch the TV inputs with the A/B button.

I need help hooking up my tv and dvd player to my surround sound
for your dvd player you just go from audio out on the back of the dvd played to the audio in on the surround sound. and you would do the same for the tv if it has an audio out. your surround sound shoud have more than 1 audio in. and then when you swicht from tv to dvd you might have change the channle, setting, source, or what ever it might be called on the surround sound. and if your tv does not have a audio out contact me at [email protected] and i try to help you. hope that works :)

Need home theater hooked to TV with built in DVD
This is the easiest way 2 explain it. Hook up on the home theater should be labeled in and out. same as on the tv. The TV might no have that feature as the DVD is built in. You might just have an option for sound from the TV/DVD to the home theater. Again OUT from TV IN to receiver. Same with any other device set up.

Did it used to work? If it did then I would say it may be.
If it is new, the Durabrand DVD players default to the component video out (RCA jack). If it is hooked up with an S-Video cable you will need to connect it with the RCA cable and then go to the settings and change the signal out to S-Video and then reconnect it with the S-Video cable.
Also make sure that the correct video source is selected on the TV.

If the TV has a tv/video button on the front
panel you can switch to video and just
operate the DVD with the DVD remote
If there is no TV/VIDEO switch then you
will need a universal remote with TV/VIDEO
menu,PIP etcIf you dont have a remote for
the dvd player the solution is basically the
same a universal remote howerver you can
operate the dvd player from the front panel
